  • I love arrangements for piano that combine classical with contemporary
I love arrangements for piano that combine classical with contemporary. I've seen some poorly done arrangements, but in my opinion, there are none in this collection. Of course, some of the pieces I prefer more than others, but that is mostly due to the fact that I am not familiar with 100% of the Disney songs in this collection. The arrangement of The Colors of the Wind is beyond gorgeous. Definitely my favorite out of all of them. :) Also, I would agree that while most of the songs in this collection are at intermediate level, there are a few that are fairly easy to play (and a few others that are more challenging) -- so there is a little variation among the arrangements in terms of difficulty level, but not to any extremes. As an advanced pianist, this is a book that I was able to pick up and sight-read the majority of the songs fairly well the first time through, although "fairly well" to me means being correct with notes/timing about 85% of the time, and not worrying (on the first read-through) about dynamics, etc. ... show more

  • Super fun to play
Really fun arrangements of some amazing Disney songs. I took years of classical piano lessons and enjoy that each of these are written in the style of a classical composer.

  • Growing on me
I wasn't crazy about these arrangements at first like his other books but their growing on me. One of the songs he copped part of a classical piece which I didn't like. But I appreciate that he was trying something different. He arranges gorgeous stuff and I'm very pleased with his other books.

  • Beautiful Arrangements
I have been playing classical piano for 16 years and as a Disney music lover, this book is perfect for me. The arrangements can be somewhat challenging but are a completely unique take on the classic Disney songs. These arrangements have so many intricate details that set them aside from the more basic arrangements that I love. I cannot recommend this book enough to the advanced pianist! ... show more

  • excellent book
A REALLY wonderful buy! I'm an advanced intermediate or early advanced pianist, and found most of the songs at a good level--easily playable, with a few challenging bits. The introduction of classical themes into the music is beautifully done.

  • Inconsistent skill levels
Very inconsistent skill levels across various pieces. Some I can very easily sight read with few or no mistakes, but some are quite tricky. I wish they were more consistent. Colors of the Wind is unique and lovely, and in my opinion the best piece in the book — wish I had just purchased that one song! ... show more

  • Excellent Music Book, but Not For Beginners
I got this book for my daughter so she could play some fun, familiar songs. The music is wonderful when her piano teacher plays, but for my daughter, who's been playing the piano for about a year, it's too advanced. I would recommend this book for someone who has had a few years of piano practice.

  • What fun!!
These arrangements vary from the very challenging to the fairly easy (for the moderately skilled). I love the harmonies. These pieces are really fun to play. These arrangements are unique, because he weaves hints of classical pieces into these Disney favorites.
