The flex cuff provides a perfectly sealed, airtight connection between your 4 OD port and the 4 OD of the reducer. The 2-1/4 OD shop vac components fit inside the smaller end of the reducer. The OD of the smaller end of the reducer can also be used to connect to a 2-1/2 ID (Inside diameter) flexible hose.
