DS18 represent! I’m a fan. Big time. This sub hits, HARD. I’m gonna stick with DS18 for awhile and will be purchasing a lot more speakers to test. Here’s where this speaker went: 2013 VW Jetta. This review is for 1-DS18 GEN154D (15”SUB). I built a NICE box using great plans I found online. I had to remove back seats and only at the perfect angle did the box fit into the trunk. I’m talking millimeters away from not going in. Lol. 1200 watt amp, gain up half way. Instantly heard new rattles and had to spend a day rattle proofing the car again. The installed 2-12” Kicker CompR’s in a amazing box in this car previously, Very nice sound. But this 15 combined with another great box, takes the win. I will be installing 2 of these soon just for kicks.... and I’m also looking into buying and trying a higher end 15” from DS as well. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This sounds unreal I love the way this 15” hits I have it hooked up with 4 6.5”s and two tweeters all coming from a 5000 watt amp it sounds amazing and hits hard I would deffinetly recommend

Very good sound quality. So far so good I love it. It hits extremely hard with the amp I have right now. I can't wait to hook it up to my new amp soon. Ok so a quick update. I can't be any more happier with this sub. The first amp I had was only pushing about 500 watts. I decided to hook it up to a buddy's system and it rattled his car. We put around 1200 watts through this sub with his amp. It took every bit of it with ease. I got my new amp and I'm pushing 1000 watts sounds great. Love the lows and hits the highs pretty good too. I would recommend DS18 products to all my friends especially how durable they are ... show more

I had some aging KCF-W3011 Kenwoods in my trunk running on a 500 watt rms monoblock rockford amp that still work but I wanted to do a moderate upgrade, and honestly these GenX surprised me with how much more impact they have in bass hits, they are technically lower sensitivity, but they seem to hit much harder and louder than the Kenwoods ever did. I'm very happy with this purchase, I've only had them installed for a couple days so far, but as of right now, I'm very happy with their performance. Edit: A few months on, I still really like these subs, they are going strong, however, I have had a chance this past week to demo some American Bass XD 1244's and after comparing those to these, I would say the AB drivers are better considering the similar price, these look better than the AB's from a pure aesthetic sense, but the AB's play deeper and are better built overall. I still wouldn't say I regret my purchase, but if I were to buy again, I would probably get the American Bass XD drivers over these considering the price and performance. Just wanted to throw this out there in case anyone else is looking to maximize their bang for buck. ... show more

have this on a 1600 watt audio bank mono block with gain at just over half and although it rattles my car mirrors a little at vol 25 the bass cant be heard or felt out the car..so if your want a thumper in your ears that is way awesome and does not attract thieves attention then this is the sub to get...lol lol i almost bought the audiopipe 12 inch txx bdc2 1500 because of i really like the design color pattern and the material of the cone but there was one review that stuck out to me and tilted me this way lol... perfect speaker single or double...and priced just right for the struggling who want a good sound to hammer on during thier morning commute to work and daily erans..lol lol sorry about the spelling.... UPDATE: 5/31/2023..found out the audiobank 1600 watt mono amp just purely sucks....put this a razor power acoustik 2500d and the difference was mind shattering ... show more

It was great for the 3 days that it lasted. I spoke to a ds18 tech and followed his method on how to rig it up and it never worked correctly. Now he won’t message me back and I can’t get anyone to answer at the company. I like ds18 but this was a horrible experience, I doubt I’ll come back

I have read some of these reviews, some must be from people that this is their very first subwoofer. Value for the money is great, low price for a low rms wattage sub. Ease of install, well it is a sub, they are easy to install. Sound quality, that is where they lack. The sound quality could be better, but for the price it does have good sound FOR THE COST of the sub. Superior sound as I read in one review, not by a long shot. But for better sound quality you will need to come out of the pocket for at least $150 more, then you will be getting superior sound quality from a sub. ... show more
