Just want to say "thanks" to DS18 for their assistance in choosing the right 6.5" DVC subwoofer for my DIY Bluetooth ammo can blaster-box. I am running 100w x 2 amplifier, two AudioPipe ATX-100 silk dome tweeters, 12v deep cycle VMax Charge Tank battery, and lots of sound deadening material inside. As for the sub: LIKES: - Impressive deep lows from such a small subwoofer (I own several subs...15" on my main system) - Price point is excellent - Actually can use it as a traditional woofer in a 2-way system (enough mids for a good crossover point) - Inside the box there was a cool sticker, hole cut template (very helpful), and a SPL vs FREQ chart (from the laboratory). To me, that is professional and very helpful. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT - For flush mounting, very difficult to feed a larger head screw through the four holes and secure the sub to a flat surface. The underside is were the metal rim part is...and where it needs to sit flush. You can easily damage the speaker's foam surround trying to feed a screw around the frontside rim gasket. - The spring loaded binding posts are good, but not "great". Found it challenging to push them all they down to feed a wire into the holes. At least they are not those cheap, flimsy F1/2 solder posts. Those are terrible. 12-14 AWG wire can be fed into the DS-18 binding posts if your talented. I am using pure copper 16/2 on short runs...no issues OVERALL - I am so glad I didn't damage this sub when mounting it. It is a strong little sub with a lot deep and smooth bass. I am no professional audio installer...but, with a small bass reflex (ported) enclosure you will be impressed. ... show more

***Update*** (06/25/19) These subs are effing AWESOME. I'm under powering and they still hit harder than any pf my previous set ups. Peeps keep asking which subs i have...not sure if i should tell them my secret. LoL Well after recently getting a hold of a dual 10" subwoofer box at a fantastic price. And upgrading my amp to one that is stable at 1ohm. Yet unable to take advantage of it since I own 2- 12" JL subwoofers svc 4 ohm. Decided to give this subwoofer a chance (once it was made available via Amazon warehouse). The subwoofer came in bent. Yet I believe due to it's high quality, I was able to bend it back to somewhat it's original position. Anyways....Once I finally obtain another DS18 Elite 10 subwoofer...I removed my JL subs and installed these. So what's my opinion? So far these out hit my 12's. I have them being powered by my Hifonics BRX 5000.5. w/1000w RMS @ 1 ohm. My only complaints would be the subs terminals are too far out making it difficult to get in a pre-fab enclosure. another pet peeve of mine is the size of the terminals. They are small which make it a pain to use when dealing with thicker speaker wire And especially difficult to wire them in parallel at the terminal. Yet most subs have the same size terminal...so you really can't knock them down on that. On a side note: The sub purchase from Amazon was via Amazon Warehouse. ... show more

2011 Lincoln town car. I did a box blow by in to rear trunk to window with 4, 8 inch subs, an epicenter and a thousand watt Old School Rockford fosgate amp which usually blows up most speakers. I've been using it for a long time and it's great. It's a 32 speaker design 6 high compression tweeters in the front 4, 8 inch mid range loudspeakers in the front 4, 6.5 mid range loudspeakers in the front 8, 6.5 mid range speakers in the back dash and doors. 4,8 inch subs and six full range speakers in the trunk lid. With four high powered old school Rockford fosgate amplifiers. After terrorizing these speakers for a long time they still sound crispy and new. ... show more

The woofer I received looked like B stock, the glues and epoxies used in the assembly process where sloppy and messy and uneven at best as the speaker surround had hard spots and soft spots and a odd bulge in one spot the screw holes where also completely filled with epoxy. the graphics on the dust cap where blurry and clumpy and unclear wich I can partially understand due to the uneven weave of carbon fiber mat, but that being said the appearance of the woofer was unexceptable. THE GOOD, the design of the woofer is not bad at all, and was clean and clear with great extension for a little 6.5 sub. (I own several different 6.5 subs from other manufacturers) If it where assembled with a little more care and attention to detail I would have kept the little beast and would have looked great, but the sub I received had the manufacturing of a 20$ subwoofer ... show more

Not good for sound quality. Tried 2 different box configurations, single at 2 ohms on an Alpine S-A60M rated at 851 watts RMS, and in double configuration running 2 at 4 ohms final on the bridged 5/6 channels on an Alpine R-A90S running 522 watts RMS@4 ohms. I heard nothing that compares to the Infinity Kappa 12” or the 10” that I normally run in that system. Anyone who says it compares to a 12 has obviously never heard a decent one.     • BETTER THAN EXPECTED
The sub sounded better than I expected. I had a rockford 8 in my wife's truck. It blew so I upgraded to the DS18 8 INCH and she loves it. Bass is deeper and cleaner. I have a DS18 15 INCH subwoofer in my suburban. I'm DS18 FOR LIFE.

The media could not be loaded. Not a bad little sub for the price. I was disappointed that there were only four holes in the gasket when it has a total of eight mounting holes, but all in all sounds pretty good.
