This 2 Pc Sewing Machine Muffling Mat/Pedal Sewing Mat Set really enhances the sewing/machine embroidery experience. These mat sets come in several sizes. I chose the largest size because I have a sewing machine that also does machine embroidery so it's quite large. If you have a standard size sewing machine, be sure and measure to see which size will work best for you. These mats are made of thick, dense, non-slip, foam. They arrive rolled up and you will need to unroll them and lay them flat and put some heavy items on the 4 corners for a couple of days to get them to relax and lay flat on their own. You lay these on whatever table you will be sewing on and you put the smaller one on the floor. Then place your sewing machine on the large mat and your foot pedal on the small mat. They do a fantastic job of absorbing machine vibration and minimizing machine noise. This is especially great for more affordable sewing machines, which tend to be noisier. They also discourage pins and markers and other notions from rolling off onto the floor. The foot pedal mat keeps the foot pedal from moving around the floor. If you don't use a dedicated sewing machine table (one where the machine fits down into the table), these mats are something that make sewing so much nicer. My sewing/embroidery machine really shakes and vibrates when I am embroidering something and it's loud, too. The mat makes it almost vibration free and it cuts the noise significantly (although not completely.) And when sewing, I actually just stick pins and needles into the mat as I am working. It's super handy. The foot pedal mat may not be a necessity if you have carpeting, which helps prevent the pedal from moving around. However, if you have hard flooring, the pedal mat is sooooo helpful. It protects your floors, too. I am very pleased with these and will be buying more mats for my sergers. They are that helpful.

I just love these mats! They stay in place and do not allow my machine or my foot to slide into awkward positions. They are soft enough to be easy on your wrists and your bare feet if you sew that way. They are thick enough to provide some comfort as well. I have found that the larger one for my sewing machine makes it much quieter so I can sew when my family is asleep if I choose to. Both pieces are just the right size to work well and yet not get in the way. I am very pleased with these pads and the cost was very competitive.

These aren't quite big enough when using the extended bed on my Singer Quantum. Do muffle and keep it from walking off when sewing at high speeds. However! They smelled like cat urine! I thought maybe a neighbors cat had somehow got in my house, went downstairs, did it's business and left without my dogs noticing. Finally realized I only smelled it at my machine. Took them outside, sprayed with lemon Lysol and left in the shade for a few days. Odor gone.

This dampened sound and cut down on the vibration in the folding plastic table I use for sewing. I also spin wool into yarn using an e-spinner (electric spinning wheel), which I've always had trouble with vibrating so much when it's at higher speeds that it scoots across the table. This mat solves that problem. So now I have the larger mat under the sewing machine and the smaller one under the e-spinner. There's slightly less noise when using the machines now, and the turquoise color is pleasant in my crafting space. Worth every penny.

Is your machine super loud? Does it shift away as you're sewing from the heavy vibrations? Do you want and aesthetically pleasing pop of color to your sewing setup? This item is for you! This item reduced the noise by almost half, and my machine's not moving ANYWHERE unless I want it to. I don't really use the foot pedal part because I tend to shift around a lot, but I'm sure it does its job too! You can fit a standard shewing machine and even a serger on the large mat!
