LOVE.

  • Think twice before purchasing this.
Style: Multi-Styler
I purchased the Drybat 8‑in‑1 tool because of the price point was hard to ignore, and I really wanted to love it. Unfortunately, the round brush bristles started bending within the first week, which was disappointing and made the tool feel less durable than I expected. It works fine overall, but I can’t help feeling like I should’ve gone with the Dyson Airwrap. For the cost, it’s okay — just not the long‑lasting styling tool I was hoping for. I you are considering this as a gift form mom, think twice about it. especially if the round brush is the tool she is wanting. ... show more

  • Did not meet expectations
Style: Multi-Styler
I’ve had other drybar tools that worked wonderfully…this one not so much. Styling tools don’t get hot enough to curl or straighten and the overall system is heavy and clunky. This did not meet expectations. I’m returning and will continue to hold hope for a flat iron attachment for my T3 interchangeable system ... show more

  • Drybar All-Inclusive Air+ Active Heat Multi-styler
Style: Multi-Styler
Wow. This is literally an all-in-one hair tool. I’ve tried many (insert number)-in-one hair tools and this one really is top notch. First thing that stands out is the heft and durability of each attachment. The box itself is big and heavy! The curling barrel is extra long and clamps down very tight and securely. It has really good air flow ventilation as well, you can get REALLY well set curls by using it on damp hair, or refresh your curls on dry hair. I love the duality of it. I’m really impressed with the flat iron attachment. I find that most of the time with multi-tools the plates just don’t come together enough to get a good straightening effect for my hair. Not the case with this at all. When you close it, it really clamps down which I prefer. The air vents are on the outside of this, so it’s a little awkward for me to use this on wet hair, (mostly because I don’t really know what I’m doing, lol). For dry hair this did better for me. LOVE the blowout brush. It’s a large round shape and gives you SO much volume. I have long, thin hair that can kinda falls flat and this makes it look amazing. I feel like it’s easy to use and the combo of plastic and boar type bristles grips your hair perfectly. The style concentrator I’m a bit unsure of as this isn’t a type of tool I wouldn’t use regularly. I did try to use it but I think all I did was blow my hair around, lol. This is the attachment that will probably just sit in the box for me. All the the attachments are super easy and lock into place securely. You pinch the 2 side buttons on the handle to release them and they pop right out. It’s not super loud when in use. The function buttons are really simple and straightforward. I did fumble a little with the button where my thumb was gripping it, but as I became more mindful of my hand placement it wasn’t an issue. I will say that it is pretty heavy, but that’s because it is so well made, so if you use this for an extended time it may cause arm fatigue. Overall if you are someone who loves doing different hair styles this is a phenomenal hair tool. The quality is top notch, and you really can do just about any style with this. If you have hard to style hair, this is also perfect because you have the air heat, the ceramic heat, and then you can do a cool air to set the hair. So much versatility in one. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • The Drybar 8 in 1: The Mazerati of Hair Styling Tools
Style: Multi-Styler
DRYBAR ALL INCLUSIVE 8 in 1 This is 1 wand and 4 accessories, so Why is it called 8 in 1? Because 3 accessories can be used with or without air (warm or cool), and the other has a fast and slow mode. I initially thought it would require a small garage (or large bathroom) for storing all the pieces, but it fits into a small quilted “carpet bag” . Here’s a blow by blow(er) review by a small bathroom gal. Short Review? A lot of fun and makes my hair look great. My hair is 2b, thick and tends to frizz, but for some reason the 8 in 1 leaves it smooth, frizz free and lovely. The Details: THE WAND: Requires three buttons to turn it on from “cold”. 1. Power 2. Air (3 settings) and 3. Heat (3 settings). After you set it there’s a fourth button that can be used to toggle from pause to restart (or long press for ‘style set mode’). The attachments snap onto this wand. Note that the lower section is filled with vent holes and buttons, which mustn’t be covered when “air” is being used. THE BLOW DRYER (Aka Concentrator): It must have been a challenge to design a vertical blow dryer. For the “High” air setting direct air to the single slot, for the “low” setting choose the dual slots (just twist to choose). Most of the air blasts out of a 1” space near the bottom of the slots. (pp 12-13) THE 2”CURLING (& BLOWER) BRUSH: Like all the products, this can be used on slightly damp hair (with air) or on dry hair (no air). The bristles are brush-like, and the tips are coated. It can be safely stored (without bending the bristles) on top of the other tools. I think it’s best for nearly-dry hair (I think pulling too hard through wet hair might damage the bristles or their tips). (pp8-9) I hope they plan to sell replacements, as no brush lasts forever. CURLING IRON and Flat Iron (Both With or Without Air): What is that Gray Snap On Piece with the teeth? It’s something that snaps onto the flat iron. The Booklet: is 21 pages, but don’t be overwhelmed. There are lots of pictures, and it demystifies this powerful styling tool. Considerations? Even the compact carpet bag takes up some space (of course) as it measures 12"x8" when zipped up. Also there's a little learning curve in terms of remembering what parts get hot when it's being used, how dry the hair should be before using the blower brush and how to avoid covering vents or pressing buttons inadvertently. Practice makes perfect. ... show more

  • Cool concept, poor execution
Style: Multi-Styler
I wanted to love this, but the fan and the heat settings were a disappointment. The round brush attachment arrived with bent bristles. The hair drying attachments do not blow hot or warm air. The fan is simply the speed setting, fast-med-slow. The inner metal part heats up (which is not good for wet hair). The hair drying attachment has such large gaps that wet hair pulls on the flat metal parts that are not bristled, however; no issue using on dry hair. I waited for my hair to partly air dry before using so this wasn’t soaking wet hair. The heating tool I was most excited for was the curling attachment, which worked fine and produced glossy bouncy curls…that lasted exactly one hour before they fell. The heat attachment does not work as well as a regular curling iron. The heat has a hi-med-low adjustment. I would love this better if it were temp controlled and told you the degree of heat. The “hi” must not be very hot because my hair did not hold any curls. I’d use my Revlon One Step and bring my babyliss curling iron (both would take up less space that this tool with all of its attachments so there’s not an argument to be had in favor of saving space). The bag it comes with also feels like a very cheap plastic material. I was worried about its intended use, which would be a heat pad for the tool, but seeing as the heat is not very hot the material choice makes sense. ... show more

  • Honest Pros and Cons
Style: Multi-Styler
First, I will say I have tried them all and this is my favorite. I've been using a Revlon One Step for years but have also tried the Dyson and the Shark hair tools. My hair is very long (mid back) and naturally blonde. This means my hair is on the thinner side and elastic (prone to breakage.) I included a hair picture from the salon to show my hair type. Here is why the Dry Bar gets my vote for daily use: PROS: --The Drybar unit has both temperature control and air control which can be used independently with all attachments. This means you can JUST have air or just have heat or set a combination of both. --The Drybar unit saves your last settings so you don't need to fiddle with settings every time. --The Drybar unit is QUIET and operates at a nice hum sound instead of a high pitched dryer whine. The sound level is half of my Revlon which means the Drybar ensures a more peaceful morning routine. --The Drybar is well designed in that my hair does not get STUCK in that crease at the bottom of the curling iron, flat iron, or air brush. You know what I mean by the weird creases in some tools that just grab a few strands and break them off every time? This tool avoids that problem completely. --You can see in my photo the Revlon is packed with broken off hair and the Drybar is not. This is because the Drybar is gentle enough not to pull out or break off my hair. --The cool air shot is great with the hot tools to "set" my style and hold the look. --My frizz prone hair turns out smooth, sleek, and polished, even with use every other day or 4x a week. --What sets Drybar clearly apart from Dyson and Shark is that the Drybar will hold LARGE sections of hair. This is WAY better than Dyson because that tool requires tiny sectioning and while your hair will turn out great, it will take FOREVER to get it done. The Drybar lets me dry my entire head with the round brush in only 5-6 sections (and again, I have LONG hair) so it cuts styling time WAY down for daily use. If you want more curls or a more complicated style, the Drybar will ALSO securely hold small sections of hair or shorter hair to style as needed. I found this to be true with ALL the included attachments, so if you have thick hair this tool will definitely save you TIME. --The power cord is 9 FEET long! and the unit is ETL certified. --All accessories have cool tip handles --The flat iron has a wonderful comb attachment that snaps on to straighten while flat ironing (great on naturally wavy hair like mine) --Packaging is wonderful and the tool is easy to use and master. CONS --While I love the function of this tool, it is absolutely huge. It is the longest tool I own at nearly 20 inches long with the curling iron tip. I would prefer a squatter sized handle so it was easier to maneuver on my own. --The "Case" is a puffy quilted soft side bag that is largely useless to me. I really wish this unit came (at minimum) with a hard "slide over" cylinder cover for the round brush. Even if they made this as an after market accessory, I would buy it. It is nearly impossible to travel with a round brush like this without damaging it smashed in a suitcase. The round brush in particular has soft bristles that don't break my hair (love that aspect) but also the bristles too easily smash with the weight of the tool. A heat proof hard sleeve that protects the bristles would be ideal for this item. --I wish the DryBar came with an oval brush shape instead of round. --The last nit-pick is the color. I'm not in love with the bright yellow, but this is my review and I get to say what I like and don't like. I understand this is their "branding" but I would prefer a baby blue or grey or tan neutral that would not look like a garage power tool in the bathroom. Again, a nit-pick, but I think they would sell more if the color were more neutral. Of course, the color does not impact the performance-- and the performance of this hair tool and the usefulness of EVERY attachment warrants the five star review. I'm rarely impressed with hair products and this one is one I'm confident will last for many years. The build quality is great and all the surfaces that touch the hair do not scorch or stick to my hair. This is the only multi-tool that I have bought for hair that genuinely replaces every hair tool I own (so the expensive flat iron is not better than this, my hair dryer is not better, my round brush dryer is not better, and my individual curling iron is not better.) This tool has given me the freedom to confidently pare down the appliances in my bathroom to this ONE Drybar-- and that is worth so much in terms of space and time saving that the value is unbeatable. I hope my review was helpful to your shopping. ... show more
