  • Comfort, stability and price
Item Shape: Medium Right
For some time now I have been using an AVO on both legs that is stiff, hard with metal plate underneath of my foot. It went from my foot up to just below my knee and cost a little over $200. This worked but it was quite cumbersome. The Neofect is excellent, just what I was looking for. It provides enough support to pick up my drop foot yet is much more comfortable and less visible when wearing shorts. Much easier to put them on and take them off. Due to the softer materials used in making these avos I'm sure they will have to eventually be replaced whereas the hard AVOs would probably last a lifetime. However I think that it's worth replacing them for the comfort and support they provide. If you have drop foot I would recommend looking into these AVO's.. ... show more

  • Great Brace but will need space in your shoe!
Item Shape: Medium Left
I recently ordered a pair of ankle boots. Only after my shoemaker added a lift to my right shoe for my leg-length difference, did I realize the carbon fiber brace I wear on my left leg for nerve damage/foot drop would not allow the side zippers of the boot to raise. I read all of the reviews here carefully, decided to chance this brace would fit in my boot, without taking up too much room. No Luck. The brace is well-made, easy to put on, quite comfortable. You will need space in your shoe for the brace. Good Luck. ... show more

  • It seems to do what it claims to do.
Item Shape: Medium Left
Worth noting, I'm very early in my use of this product, like an hour into day one early. I was diagnosed with MS several years ago and in the past few years have had some progression of weakness in my left leg. Included with that is some dorsiflexion issues (partially exhibited as some foot drop) as well as some weakness or what I'd call "sloppiness" of my knee and ankle. I was looking for a product that would assist me with the dorsiflexion issue (with and without shoes) and one that might offer some stability of the ankle joint. In my research, this seemed like a product that could help with both of those things. My first impression was "wow, I overpaid for this thing" based upon what was in the bag (and I still feel a little bit that way but time will tell if this assists and holds up over time). I didn't have any issues getting this onto my foot; the directions were sufficient. I found that forcing my ankle into dorsiflexion allowed the brace to work best in keeping my toes pointed upward. The device is comfortable and works both with and without shoes. I'm not sure this is the case with other devices, as this is my first, I am finding that not only does it keep my ankle flexed, it also has a favorable affect throughout the length of my leg (I seem less prone to over-extension of my knee and think it helps to make the muscles in my upper leg participate. It could be mindfulness alone but I suspect the former). As for stability, I think this does offer some (it compensates for some of the sloppiness/laziness of my ankle). It does not compare to what an athletic-style lace-up brace would do to prevent an ankle roll, but I don't believe that is the intent of this device. The materials seem of good quality, the loop and hook (Velcro) seems to be quite strong as that is needed for this particular device. Even with that said, the price point does seem a bit high (considering it is made in China, not in the US or EU) which may dissuade some people from acquiring this over another device. So with all of that stated, I've given it an overall rating of four stars and as I stated before, time will tell. ... show more

  • Uncomfortable
Item Shape: Medium Left
This helps with my mom's foot drop when she's at home but she can't sleep in it. It has to be wrapped pretty tight to work well and that was causing her foot to swell and chafe.

  • Did nothing for drop foot at all
Item Shape: Medium Left
I suffered from a stroke affecting the left side of my body. I thought this and foam wrap would be better to sit in the shoes. It is not made for women with smaller structure and feet I’m a size 8 in ladies shoes. My husband trying to put it on as tight as he could and it’s still not to keep my foot up Enough for me to not skid the toe of my shoes. And then had my physical therapist put it on me thinking my husband did it wrong and he too said yeah this isn’t gonna work. It’s too big for my ankle wraps around several times and never stays up even with the silicone nonslip on the inside of the angle wrap. The Velcro straps were not strong enough to hold my foot up no matter how hard I stretch them to the fullest mass to attach to the ankle frame. The ankle brace part of the product kept slipping down my foot which then would not hold support for the drop foot. It’s a shame they don’t come in sizes small medium and large because one size does not fit all. We will be returning this product immediately. ... show more

  • Not much support
Item Shape: Large Right
I guess this sort of lifts your foot up, but pretty worthless. I assumed it would have some bit of ankle support, but there was zero. I returned it immediately.
