This drone would probably be the best fit for a 8 year old who wants an efficient toy helicopter. The battery lasts an average of 8 minutes of flight time for each full charge, which is barely anything. Drone itself seems to be made of cheap plastic and so does everything else it comes with. The video quality is DEFINITELY not 1080p, more like 480p quality. (Looks like an old Nokia is recording). Drone likes to wander and loses signal if it’s more then 30 feet away. You can’t really do much with this drone other then just fly it up and down for fun. Overall it’s barely worth the $50 I got it for and never the $300 it’s originally listed for. Camera is not 1080 nor 720. Connection is weak from drone to phone. Battery dies very quickly.
