The first time I purchased this chair the left back wheel lock was not aligned properly so I could not attach the back left wheel. I returned the item and requested a replacement. The replacement that was sent to me, was the same damaged item I had returned. So I returned the chair a second time. I waited 2 months and ordered a third chair. After I assembled it, I noticed the wheel locks for the back wheels did not work. The manual locks are too thin and not tight enough to lock the back wheels. I am not sure if this is a design flaw or if the locks are defective but it would be dangerous for my elderly mother to get in and out of this chair if I cannot lock the wheels in place so that they do not roll. The frame on this product was poorly made. A family member had to reverse the back wheels, and a part had to be made so they would lock properly. Also, the front wheels moved sideways when moving forward because the frame was too close and rubbed the wheels. They also moved when I tried to stand up, even though the chair was locked. This caused me to fall on my knee very hard. I am very disappointed as I have had two other chairs from this company which did not have these problems. I did not return it as I had added a part but will not ever be ordering another one. ... show more

This chair is so practical for the average person to fold and put it in the car. Where it lacks is in maneuverability is over thresholds. My person needing the chair is non-weight bearing due to a broken leg. We figuratively say a Hail Mary ever time we have to get in and out of the house which has a 5 inch step at by the front door. UPDATE: it has been just over a month and today, the prayers didn’t work. I took the chair down a drive (where it intersects with the street) and had the transport chair tilted backwards to accommodate the slant. Suddenly I was not able to upright the chair. My loved one ended up lying on her back in the street. The reason I could not get her on all 4 wheels is that the metal on the handle snapped. My loved one is close to 200 pounds. The weight guidance provided by the manufacturer is pushing the limits. However I think it is also relevant that we were thrust into the wheelchair world and we really needed a full fledge wheelchair. This is no substitute for a wheelchair but is definitely practical and helpful for many reasons including fitting through household doorways and providing a means of getting out of the house to someone who is weight bearing but unable to cover much distance. ... show more
