It does make ice,Day 1 I ran the unit all day and wanted to take notes as I went.So I made 8 glasses of soda and that's how much ice I used for the whole day( almost 9 hrs.So my point is, this would be good for a couple of people.But if yr having more than 1 person come over and use ice..better go grab a bag.What else I noticed, is when the ice doesn't fall into the basket all the way( and its not even close to clogging or any obstructions..the maker stops making ice.So far, if I don't check on it from time to time, it stops making ice and has to be reset.If I we're them, I would just iliminate the ice fill feature.Cause it shuts off even if the basket is half full. ... show more

It's amazing until it needs the full trey of iced dumped into a bad it's a set it and forget it. If you don't get to the Ice it just melts back into water to start the process over again.
