  • Don't use the provided protective film. It's too slippery to use.
Size: Large Style: Wire
Summary: 4/5 - DO NOT use the protective film if you want steady strokes. - Generally good tablet layout with completely customizable buttons. - You will likely need customizations to hotkeys or settings will be necessary for the best experience. Ease of Use: 3/5 - For anyone who uses a low sensitivity mouse or has ever used a laptop mousepad, it does not take long (about 30 minutes or so for me) to get used to the tablet. However, it is an adjustment, especially if you're used to traditional drawing/painting. - You may need to change the brush cursor icon. For example, I use Krita on a Windows OS laptop. The default brush cursor is "no cursor". Needless to say, this is problematic since you'll want to know the location of the cursor on the screen when you're not applying pressure to give you a sense of relative space. I personally changed the brush cursor icon to "crosshair". Ease of Installation: 4/5 - It's not plug and play, but it's fairly easy to find the drivers online and install the drivers. - It's fairly intuitive to figure out what to do with the cords and how to connect it with your system. Pen Quality: 5/5 - Pen has a sizable girth that sits comfortably in the hand, and the buttons don't get in the way even when tested with different grips. - It has sufficient weight, so it does not feel like it will fall out of your hand. Surface Quality: 5/5 - The tablet's native surface has matte finish that provides a bit of friction, providing good feedback when making a stroke. - I have not had the tablet for long though, so I cannot give a perspective on its durability. Tablet Layout: 4/5 - The layout of the tablet is fairly standard with macro buttons to the side of the drawing surface. - Although it does not affect the experience too much since you won't be looking at the tablet while drawing, the corners indicating the drawing area is a nice touch. - The additional inch or so outside of the drawing area allows you to draw/point at the very edges of the screen while still allowing you to rest a part of your hand on the surface. - The surface still feels a little small, hence the 4/5, but that's to be expected for drawing tablets at this price point. Macro Buttons: 4/5 - There are 8 fully customizable macro buttons. - The macros can record a sequence of inputs, which can be useful if there's pairs of commands you want to use at once. I find this quite useful for combining the center and mirror actions in Krita. - The in-between buttons have raised bumps that allow for easier identification by tough. They could be a bit larger though to distinguish the "-" and the "." bumps better. - The buttons are entirely separate circular buttons, so pressing the wrong one is uncommon. - The buttons are not backlit or a different color from the rest of the tablet, which can be a bit difficult to find them visually in a darker room. Protective Film: 2/5 - It feels firm and sturdy. The adhesive sticks firmly onto the surface, and the film lies flush against the tablet perfectly. - The surface is extremely slick, so drawing on it feels very unbalanced. Quick flicks or strokes are okay, but any intermediate or slow stroke is simply impossible to do steadily. - DO NOT install the protective film if you want steady strokes. ... show more

  • Really good for beginners! (Coming from a newbie)
Size: Large Style: Wire
I've had this tablet for 2 years now and at this point, I highly recommend it for beginners. I was going through old orders to find something and I've enjoyed this tablet so much and I stopped to write a review 2 years later lol. I started out drawing with my finger on my phone in ibisPaint (lol) and decided I wanted an actual tablet. Did a ton of research and comparing between tablets around this price point, and honestly I can't remember now why I chose this model, but I don't regret it at all. If you're just getting into tablets and not sure what you're looking for, but don't wanna drop $100+ on a Wacom/Screened tablet, this will definitely do the job. I remember it being a little bit of a pain to get the drivers and software set up, but there are instructions and support for that. Otherwise, I keep the plug for it around my desk area and am able to just plug it in and start using it whenever I please. I've done everything from Photoshop & Illustrator drawings to 3D modeling in Blender and haven't had any problems as far as I can remember. The only thing I've run into is my mouse glitching out because I left the pen too close to the tablet and my computer is confused on which I'm trying to use lol just move the pen and make sure the tablet isn't showing the indicative blue light :) PROS: -sensitivity is good for registering line thickness -comes with like, 9 extra nibs for the pen so if you lose or ruin one there are plenty of backups -protective film does an awesome job protecting the actual tablet, hasn't noticeably effected my drawing output, has saved the tablet from rogue flying cigarette embers -(8) hotkey buttons are customizable -decently large drawing area -blue light on tablet to indicate if the pen is being registered by it CONS: -can't think of any other than the drivers being a pain at first, but I've noticed that any other small issues I've run into are due to user error. Anyways, read the other reviews, some people were even nice enough to compare it with other brands like Huion, which is helpful if you're shopping this price point. Would I buy this again? Absolutely, it would make a great gift for someone getting into digital art, and it honestly fits all of my needs so I would even buy it again for myself if something ever happened to it. 2 years later and it works like new. ... show more
