I really like the look of these lamps. They're easy to put together and a pretty clever way to make the lamps shades. The usb plugs are a nice touch. I think they would look better without them. The shades come in three pieces. The cover and top and bottom support rings. It's pretty straight forward. Figure out which ring goes at the top and which side of the cover is the top and it all snaps and velcros together. It easier if you have someone to help you stretch the covers when you doing the velcro part. But you could do it by yourself no problem. My cat knocked one of the lamps off the cabinet I had it setting on. It was a good three feet tall. It didn't hurt the lamp at all. The shade was a little messed up. I popped the shade back out and clipped the ring backing to its holder and it was good as new. So my cat showed me they're pretty durable. The pull string is easy to pull unlike some lamps where you practically have to pull the lamp over to get the pull cord to work. My only complaint is how you screw the top of the lamp together. It's kind of pain to get it together. Once it's together it will just spin. It doesn't tighten down. Not a big deal but it does annoy me. Over all a great set if lamps and a great price for a set.

I chose these lamps because they match my bedroom decor so well, and the USB chargers were such a nice bonus! I have 2 wall outlets (1 behind each nightstand), but now I can use the lamp's USB ports and have room to plug in additional electronics in the wall outlets (alarm clock, wax warmer, etc.). These lamps have 2 USB ports each, we tested them all, and everything works perfectly. Now I can plug my phone up & still use it in bed, where I had no extra cord to spare using the wall outlet. When I first opened the package, I thought I was missing my lamp shades, but then I found them tightly rolled up along with the rings where they are installed. I had never seen lamp shades like this before, but - once you get them on - they look just like the old school shades that cannot be taken apart. This would be a handy feature if I needed to pack them up for a move. There is a little assembly required, but you don't even need instructions for this; it is so simple. I opted for the more warm, yellow tone bulb for the bedroom, and I think it works well with these lamps. They feel hefty, sturdy, well-made, and the love the pull-string! It works very well & doesn't feel like the chain might snap or like I might pull the whole lamp over. I use these lamps every day, and I think they really added something to the room (besides light). I am not a huge fan of the more harsh, overhead lights, so my bedroom stayed pretty dark until I got these lamps. I wouldn't change a single thing about them, and I am incredibly happy with these vintage bedside lamps!!

These lamps are so cute! They come completely disassembled and putting them together took me less than 10 mins each. I thought I ordered white shades but the sage green that came was a pleasant surprise as my bedroom has a sage accent wall. The bases are sturdy and slightly heavy which is nice that they won’t slide around with the slightest bump. I highly recommend these adorable lamps!

You guys. When I first opened the box, I thought they'd forgotten to send me the shades. I mean, it's been a long time since I've bought new lampshades, but I've never seen one like these: the linen fabric (if it's not real linen, it sure looks realistic) backed with a sturdier plasticky fabric came in sheets. Those sheets have little plastic clips on the top and bottom edges, which attach to the top and bottom wire frames. Then the shade closes with hook-and-loop tape. At first, I thought it was weird, but after a bit I've decided I like it: it's going to make it much easier to clean those shades, being able to un-velcro them and pop them off their frames, lay them flat, and clean them. Also—just thinking ahead—it'll be easier to use the existing shade as a pattern to make new ones when I decide to change the look. The shade situation wasn't the only thing to confuse me, but the other thing was completely my own problem. I blame my lack of coffee before assembling the lamps. Once I got the lamp parts screwed together and the shades assembled, I put the shade onto the lamp bases and inserted bulbs. The shades were very unstable, and I thought, 'I wonder why these don't come with those... wait a minute! They did!' Before you insert a lightbulb, you must unscrew the plastic flange that came attached, put the shade frame on, then hold in place by screwing on the flange. Duh. (Don't judge me too harshly. Remember: no coffee.) Aaanyway, I got the lamps assembled and set onto my end tables. I like them! They're a good size for and end table or sofa table. The bases are resin, but they look way more like wood than the listing pictures show. They're nice and bottom heavy, so they won't tip over easily. The pull chains feel strong. And something I hadn't noticed until I got them: those two USB ports in the base will really come in handy for charging my phone and kindle without having to tote the charging plug base around.

When I think about having to assemble a lamp, I really only think about the three main pieces - base, shade, bulb. (Bulb is not included here.). I was surprised that there was more to the assembly than that. Really reminded me of something that would come from IKEA. I was surprised at the small size of the box, because I expected the shades to be fully intact. I did not expect to have to put the fabric surround on the shade framing. It's just weird to me. It has a vintage look from a distance, but up close it is evident that it is a resin. If the resin-look doesn't give it away that it's not vintage, the usb plugs will! Gotta love usb plugs - one of the main reasons I bought lamps like these!!
