The media could not be loaded. This set comes with everything you need once you’ve gotten past the beginner phase of learning how to tattoo. There is a limited supply of accessories, as once you get to the point where you’re ready for higher-end tools, you probably have a surplus of the consumables. Also, it comes with 2 external power supplies for expanded usage time. I'm just in the beginning phases of learning how to tattoo, and I've tried many different kits now. This kit includes everything you need, including 20 cartridges. The on/off, depth adjustments, and speed fine-tuning were fairly easy and self-explanatory. The gun is more involved than others I’ve had, with more adjustment features for different usage modes and has a very sensitive adjustable needle depth, which really helps when you're still trying to master how far to hold the gun to get the right skin depth (1-2 mm). It’s a slim-line pen, which is much easier to grip and maneuver if you have smaller hands. The included practice skin also helps get a feel for the way the machine works as compared to others. Also, who doesn’t love stickers and wristbands? I still don't feel confident working on actual skin, so I'm still just practicing with skins (included) and intermittently shading in some decades-old scars from an old accident to try it out on actual skin. The included ink is a deep, rich black and holds in the practice skin well. The included gloves provided a nice germ barrier after I'd sterilized all required skin areas. This machine was easy to grip and allows for steady handling and an even and consistent depth, and the needle didn't hurt any more than professional tattoos. The ink was deposited evenly over the scar tissue area and is healing evenly. The skin trauma was no worse than any of the professional tattoos I've ever gotten, and the healing went by without a hitch, though it was itchier than normal as expected due to the tattoo being done over a keloid scar. Overall, this is a very user-friendly kit for someone in the intermediate phases of learning tattooing and is an excellent value for the money. Low on consumables, but a great value when you take into consideration the value of the pen and dual power supplies alone.

Let me preface this review by saying I’ve never held a tattoo gun in my life. The craft has always fascinated me and I’ve always wanted to try my hand at it, but I have 0 clue what I’m doing with this tool LOL! That being said, I think this was the absolute BEST tattoo machine I could have tried as a beginner. This machine is insanely lightweight and so natural to hold. Setting it up was easy and intuitive for me. It came with absolutely everything I needed to practice including stencil paper, grip tape, ink, gloves, practice skin, and plenty of needles! The battery life seems to be pretty good, I’ve played with it for quite a few hours on a single charge. If you need it for a longer session, it does come with an extra battery which is nice! The other thing I like about this machine is it seems to be a legit and trusted brand overall. I was able to find a website for this brand where you can order more supplies. There were also quite a few tutorial videos I found from actual tattooers who gave this brand a thumbs up for beginners. I like knowing that as I go through the supplies included with this kit I can easily order more. Obviously, I’m not going anywhere near real skin anytime soon since I can’t pull a straight line to save my life LOL, but based on my experience with the practice skin I’m super thrilled with this product! I’m excited to keep practicing and hopefully get to a point where I can make something nice!

I own at least half a dozen machines, both traditional and newer cartridge style, and while I didn't need to add another to my already overflowing kit, this was too good of a deal to pass up when shopping for a present for a new artist just starting her apprenticeship! I've tried other Dragonhawk products in the past, and their quality didn't disappoint then or now: everything here is packaged well in seperate boxes with components - all available to purchase separately - packed in protective foam with instructions. Having two batteries is great, especially without a dedicated ac power supply and pedal, and gives you a few hours to work with, or a bit more if charging one while using the other. All the beginner supplies are included, with a small bottle of black ink, a pair of gloves (though you'll need many more), caps, tape, and practice skin, as well as an assortment of cartridge styles. The latter are professional grade and sealed of course, and you could use this kit to start inking on actual skin right off the bat if you didn't need to brush up or learn anything. The price is a bit higher than other kits, but that makes sense with the quality on offer, as well as the inclusion of a second battery that many cheaper kits skip over. You will need to spend more if you want to use a foot deal and wall power, but for my purposes this is the perfect setup for a new artist!

This machine isn’t great for line work. It’s a decent machine for beginners to practice shading. But I would not use this as my go to for all work!
