I am in no way a professional and I’m am completely fine with practicing on myself and fixing them the more I get better and the lot is obviously a STARTER kit. HOWEVER, the skin that comes with this is very cheap and paper thin so invest in some good fake skin to practice and some more inks and cartridges! THAT BEING SAID this kit overall is fantastic! The gun is super easy to use and hold. The inks are great and last if you’re just doing minimal work(I don’t have sensitive skin so idk about reactions)! I have NEVER DONE THIS before buying this kit and I watched a couple YouTube videos and the kit made it simple. I have completed 5 on myself and 3 on my friends. Again, I’m cool with practicing on myself and editing them later as I get better but to each their own! Pics are of what I HAVE DONE WITH THIS KIT ON MYSELF 🫶🏼

Veeeeery easy to use for beginners, very easy to learn with and comfortable to use. Very quiet, the ink is pretty good quality in small bottles, the kit comes with everything you’ll need including some extra. The only downside to this kit is the needle carts it comes with have a tendency to come out, even when clicked in fully. During tattooing depending on how hard you push while tattooing, it’s not really noticeable until it’s fairly out. So I messed some lines up due to the needle popping out twice within a two hour period. I recommend bigger carts and/or watching your pen carefully to ensure it doesn’t start popping out because it’s not really noticeable when tattooing until you lift the pen and see it. Overall, GREAT product for the money. The reviews are extremely helpful and the kit is so wonderful for beginners.

I wanted to get back to tattooing after not doing it for over 20 years. The main reason being that with arthritis in my hands I couldn't hold a coil machine properly due to their weight and bulkiness. This Atom Dragonhawk machine is perfect for me to tattoo myself and fix up my husbands ink. I love it! To the people that complain about not getting what they ordered - please make sure you have the set up you want selected, there are quit a few selections offered. I received everything plus some stickers. I also ordered a few boxes of different sized cartridge needles that are in my photos along with transfer paper that does not come with the kit I ordered. I did my first tattoo the same day and it took me 20 minutes. So easy to set up and use. I'll probably be ordering a more expensive machine pretty soon just because I'm enamored with these machines!!!

I decided to get a tattoo kit a week ago. It's been eight years since I did my last tattoo, so as a recovering tattooist, I want to try out one of these 'new style' machines. I picked this kit since it seems to come with all the things I'd want in order to tattoo someone with a few cool extras. So I'll break down the machine and major components and provide some pros and cons. Machine - Feels good. Little vibration, and the cartridges click in very nicely. I've never touched or seen a cartridge before this kit, and wow - what a crazy invention! I had to learn how to solder needles onto a bar and clean them with an autoclave. This seems 1000x easier than anything with a needle on a bar. They *look* like a typical sterile packaged disposable needle, but they opened too easily for me to be convinced. Pre-packaged needles and grips were sealed pretty well from what I can remember. Needle depth adjustment was easy and done by rotating the machine. It didn't click while doing so and was very smooth. Ran the machine continuously for 20 minutes. It warmed up but didn't get hot. Should make it for a 2-3 hour session. I can't tune these by ear, so don't know what settings to run it at...sorry. Power Supply - One of the selling points for me since it shows the voltage and has a more legit-looking foot control. I hate the idea of a constantly running machine. Voltage readout was a volt lower than actual when tested with a multimeter. Shouldn't be an issue, as the real value comes in knowing how to ballpark your settings. The foot controller is TINY, more like a button. Good news is it takes the traditional jacks so you can swap it out. It works fine but doesn't have rubber feet on the bottom of it so it slides around. There are spots to add some but they were not there. I'd add some. Ink - Wouldn't use it on a person. The packaging had an expiration date but it isn't sterile. There isn't even a seal under the lid. The orange bottle had a pinhole leak as well. It's enough to do two or three practice tattoos on the included practice skin. Overall I'm happy with what I got. It was nice to put the gloves back on and play around with a new machine. I might find some willing participants to do a few pieces on and see how it holds up to an actual sitting but I might need to purchase another machine first to make sure I don't leave them stranded if this one breaks. Everyone should keep an eye on their cats in the meantime!

Great product! I'm a beginner who just did her first tat with this machine and all of the equipment was super easy to setup and use. Ink goes on smooth and the contrast is great. Highly recommend, I got this because I felt like using something that would feel like a big pen in my hand would be better than regular machine since I draw. I know it's not the same but still haha. Just a tip for anyone the Cartridges are awesome! So a 2 second dip into the ink will pull it into the tip and it'll last longer than you having to continuously dip it. Dont tat with a straight hand go with a slight slant and find your setting. I tatted with a 6.0 and it was perfect for me and I adjusted my needle to just a tad bit sticking out of the tip. You dont want to keep it at the sticking out level it has because you will stab yourself or the person you're working on badly. Anyway great bang for your buck, superior quality.

I’ve never tattooed so I have no comparison but hands on for the first time using it, it’s nice. There’s a whole science behind putting ink underneath the skid into the dermis to be permanent so do research on that, I did and I feel That’s why mine came out halfway decent, d I practiced on the fake skin a few times before actually doing it. BE STERILE!!! BE SAFE!!!! Use alcohol spray, gloves, alcohol wipes, you can’t be too clean. Don’t triple pass line and cut yourself all that yadda yadda. Other than that it’s a dope machine, easy to use just read the instructions, do your research on technique and you’ll be good! ALSO!!! Stick with dragon hawk products I order them here on Amazon, they’re great quality and I won’t change, I use Viking ink and it’s been the best so far. Use Aquaphore for healing, don’t pick don’t scratch, no hot water. That’s all I got..
