Very good clone of more expensive device. Only used for a short time so far but overall impression is good. Lightweight, nicely designed and no noticeable defects. Very quiet with minimal vibration. Works well with variety of cartridge tip brands although some have a very tight tolerance and are difficult to insert, although this may be by design to limit chance of tips working loose. Depth adjustment system is very basic, achieved by turning the grip in or out from the body. Works well but is very tight and again may be designed this way to avoid unwanted depth changes. However a ratchet design would be more stable and require less effort. Overall decent equipment. Did not get overly hot after 2 hours of continuous work. Lining was extremely smooth and efficient with smaller liner cartridges, size 3 and 5. Larger liner, size 9,seemed to be difficult for it to push well. This may just be circumstantial or due to that particular cartridge, will revisit next chance to use this size needle. Have not yet used with shader grouping but will be using with a round 9 mag tomorrow and hoping to find it is able to push it properly. Definitely impressed with it overall for a first impression but time and experience will tell the true tale and I will inform as information becomes available. Thanks for your time. ... show more

  • Take a break, in depth review inbound-
Color: Red
First off, I’d like to tell you that I’ve been tattooing professionally for almost 15 years. I have used many machines in that time- some good, some not so good, and some sh%#. That being said- I bought this machine on a whim- not necessarily for any reason. I didn’t need it, I have plenty of other rotaries. I was curious as to how good a $50 rotary (pen) machine can be, and with amazon prime, I decided to check it out. I got the red one because it was cheaper and I don’t care what color my pen machine is because I wrap em up while tattooing anyway. Let’s get into it: First impressions were good, the finish was pretty nice with no noticeable flaws. The needles they send with this are straight garbage, throw them away. I don’t know why they don’t send some of their SEA cartridges, they’re actually decent. The connection is NOT RCA as described, it’s a DC voltage connection. It ran pretty smooth but sluggish (like something was slowing it down, read below) out of the box, no weird noises or vibrations. One MAJOR thing for me- the machine I got WAS NOT 3.5mm stroke. I measured it with a micrometer at 2.8mm exactly. (From needle flush with tip to full protrusion) This would render it useless to me for anything other than shading and maybe color blending. You’re gonna have trouble pulling a good single pass line anywhere expect the shin with anything under 3mm. 3.5 - 4.2 is ideal and universal. Then I opened her up (something I’m sure they don’t want you to do because they put glue on the threads. How are you supposed to clean and lube it?). The grease they use is super STICKY. I don’t know what they’re using, but it has to be causing more friction than lubrication. I used a mild solvent to clean that crap out and replaced it with some SuperLube silicone grease (highly recommend). That freed her up, way more peppy and singing along, however still suffering from that anemic 2.8mm stroke. Maybe I can find a spare 3.5mm or 4.0mm bearing swash disc from a China supplier or maybe Dragonhawk will send me a bearing disc that’s actually 3.5 that I can replace it with. Time will tell. I will update this review if anything changes. Final opinion? I would not buy it again, not in its current state, anyway. If some updates were made by the manufacturer, I would say it’s a great deal. But, as of right now, it’s a no-go for me. Here are some specs: Grip goes from: 23mm to 21.5mm to 26mm Body tapers from: 26mm to 28mm The length is: 118mm Weight: 131.8 grams or 4.65 oz ... show more

  • Must have machine
Color: Red
Honestly better than I expected it to be. Smooth, silent and strong. Hop fast I have put this bad boy to the test. It's nice on lines and killer on shading and color. His with enough power to drop color in smoothly and yet still soft enough to keep clients happy. Amazing how good it is for such a great price. ... show more

  • This thing is AWESOME!

I love this rotary tattoo pen! Just got to use it for the first time since purchasing it. It's super quiet, super consistent, set-up is very fast, changing between cartridges is a sinch, and it is extremely efficient. I had been using a standard coil machine for about 7 years, and I will not be using my coil machines again after using this. ... show more

  • Improved my tattooing skills tenfold!
Color: Black
So I’m no professional tattoo artist, but I’m not a beginner, I’ve been doing tattoos for fun for about 3 years. I’ve gone through many machines, but never a pen rotary like this. As soon I tried it out, it fit perfect in my hand, and was the easiest machine I’d ever used. It doesn’t shake like coil machines, and you don’t have to go through the hassle of tuning it like the old machines either. It feels natural to use, just like drawing with a pen. The first time I used it, I was able to effortlessly tattoo designs that would have been a challenge for me otherwise. Highly recommend to beginners, or more advanced artists. ... show more
