  • It Was Fun Until It Was Frustrating
Platform: Xbox One Edition: Standard
This game is really fun for a Dragon Ball fan. As fighting game, it's lacking in technique. It's more of an arcade smash'em, and that's OK. It's good at what it tries to be. There's combos to provide variety, but after you find the 2 or 3 combos you want to use those will be the ones you probably stick with. The system for using specials and ultimates works fine and will help you or harm you depending on you playstyle. I've played the Budokai and Tenkaichi series, and having to land your special at the end of a combo in Buodaki became really dull. It definitely isn't as great as Tenkaichi, so if that is what you're looking for then lower your expectations a bit. But it's fun and definitely worth buying. My only real problem with the game my be my own. You have to play through the story line to be able to unlock the multiplayer options of the same time period. While normally that wouldn't be a problem, this game highly advertises the ability to play 3player co-op. So you and your friends hop on the game after purchase only to find out that you can't even play with each other yet. You have to play through the story first. And getting through the story is long and difficult. While a lengthy story isn't a bad thing, I think it took so long because of how difficult is the game. You really need those other 2 players to help you beat the parts in the 2nd half of the game, but instead you have the talentless CPU partner who you will be trying to keep alive along with yourself. I never finished the story because I got tired of having to buy pills to stay alive only to have the computer die. Then, having to start the match all over again. If you can put-up with that, or your skill level is better than mine you will enjoy the game ... show more

  • you've probably been disappointed like me
Platform: Xbox One Edition: Standard
If you've played countless DBZ games looking for a real DBZ experience, as I have done, you've probably been disappointed like me. I think we've all been searching for a REAL action-MMO that puts you into the DBZ universe and lets you feel like you've left reality and become a namek or super saiyan, and the games out there generally fail and are clunky. THIS game hits closer to the mark than any I've seen. The graphics are beautiful, somehow accomplishing a 3D world and yet every angle feels like a the beautiful 2D manga. Combat is fast and imitates the action from the series, putting "realism" ahead of "game mechanics balance." This, for me, is a huge bonus. There are a couple let-downs: there isn't actually an overworld to fly around and explore, and there is no concept of "power level" in the game for you to use your scouter on. But, considering what else is out there for DBZ fans, this really is the best of the best right now. ... show more

  • Lots of fun for Dragon Ball fans
Platform: Xbox One Edition: Standard
My husband has played the crap out of this game, and actually liked it so much he bought all the expansion packs (this is incredibly rare for him lol). I've played it as well, and its a really enjoyable game (I'm more of an RPG fan but this was still fun!) Overall it's a really good for DB fans of all ages- and it's continually expanding. ... show more

Platform: Xbox One Edition: Standard
It's Dragon Ball and it's just all sorts of legit fun. The story IS essentially "Dragon Ball Z but starring a self-insert character" fanfiction, but it really shouldn't detract you from having a blast. The gameplay is smooth and the visuals are appealing, and the performance turned in by the DBZ voice over artists is really good. If you're a DBZ fan looking for something great to sink your hands into, this is the title for you. ... show more

  • Fun-fun.
Platform: Xbox One Edition: Standard
My husband is obsessed with this game. We've played it together frequently and it's worth the buy, especially if you're a fan. It is mildly difficult to navigate at first, but otherwise a hit in our home.
