The media could not be loaded. Disclaimer: this is the only pin pointer I'm familiar with. I have used this on dry land and in a few feet of water. The range seems to be 4 inches max for small metal. It seems durable and I've been rough with it on a dozen hunts. It has been nice dragging it on the surface to pull out shallow coins. Beware if you are looking for small gold. It has trouble finding thin gold rings and small balls of foil, which can be frustrating when trying to find the main detector's target. I have to keep my detector coil the length of the handle away from this pin pointer or the pin pointer beeps. There is a signal cancel feature setting, but it shortens detection range. This seems like a good product for the price.

I've only used this pin pointer once, so I can't really give an educated review yet. I like the LED screen. The instrument worked fine the day I used it. That is about all I can say until I've used it for a while. So far, so good.

DR.ÖTEK Metal Detector Pinpointer for Adults; I had my house & garage roofs re-shingled and even though they had tarps around the perimeter there were many nails left. From previous experience, I knew any nails left could eventually make their way to my concrete drive and I could get a flat tire. The roofers used their large magnets during & after but by walking over the area many nails got embedded in the soil & grass mat. I methodically went over every square foot by hand over several sessions. I learned this tool quickly and knew when the signal was from a new nail and old metal that was 2" down. Was it hard? It was as hard and took as long as my weeding, and that's how I looked at the task. Now I can enjoy my expensive new roof.

I absolutely love this pinpointer. It has made finding objects so much easier. My Dr. Otek metal detector locates things when I sweep the ground, but once I dig I need this pinpointer to, well, pinpoint precisely where the object is. It’s so easy to miss something small - you might’ve already excavated it without knowing and this little baby narrows down where to find it. It is really sensitive and you can personalize its settings. I like to set it for both vibration and sound. Since I’ve gotten it I have more confidence than ever that I can quickly and efficiently locate those hidden treasures. Dr. Otek has done it again!
