Let me start by saying I Love docs. I have the o.g. black ones but I've wanted these since I was 15. I'm 45. Could not pass up the deal on these bad boys. The sizing is UK so be mindful when you order. I got a 4 u.k. size which is a womens 6 u.s.. the Virginia leather is so soft and supple. These boots are so freakn comfortable. Amazing fit, comfortable, easy to break in. Knee high and comes with very long laces and I have thick ish calves. The zipper is great. Very stylish.

I love Dr Martins. As someone with arthritis in their feet they are one of the few shoes that once fully broken in do not hurt my feet at all. I wanted a taller pair of boots and had a brown pair that I wanted but then read they didn't fit larger calves. Thanks to ailments, I have one leg a little bigger than the other so I needed a boot that was more adjustable. These are great. I was able to get them on with the zipper and then lace them up. The laces even have a bit of elastic in them. I was not able to go all the way to the top with my laces (couldn't get to the top three holes) but I'm like that with my lower doc boots too. This does not affect how they feel when wearing them. These have been comfortable from the get-go and they're surprisingly lightweight especially considering their size. The leather is soft leather and it's pretty flexible. If you have larger calves and you're concerned if these will fit you should be OK. ... show more
