I got this for husband & he says it's not as helpful as he thought it would be. He tried several different ways to use it & ended up returning it. Seems it just wasn't the fit for him after all. He said that even tho it didn't work out for him, he'd still recommend it.

I really like the design which in my opinion is more sophisticated than other inguinal hernia belts that I have. I like that it comes with a total of 4 pads, large but not too large velcro areas and the shape and feel of the belt materials. The tip of the belt end has a finger friendly area to grab in front of the velcro. The smaller pad is much like the pads that are common with hernia belts, just a little smaller in all it's dimensions. The low profile pad is bigger and feels like soft foam. In my opinion both pads types are not as noticeable under clothing than most of the other pad types I have for hernia belts. Included is a 23 page instruction booklet and separate quick reference card which is made of durable material. The quick reference card has simple diagrams with the steps to help put on the belt. The instruction booklet is well organized, in clear to understand English with diagrams and tips for hernias. I should note that the instructions are only in English. But you can probably figure out what to do from just the diagrams. So now for why I dropped a star. I find that it "runs hot". The shape of the belt covers a large area and the two low profile foam type pads don't seem to breathe as well as other pad types. Those low profile pads are too soft for me when I cough, sneeze or blow my nose. What I mean is I have to apply pressure with my hand to prevent a bulge with those activities. So I prefer the cushion type pad where I don't have that problem, even though it's smaller. I only use this belt for one side but it looks to me that to cover both sides in the right areas the size would have to be almost a perfect match to the wearer's body. The way the belt fits me I would not be able to have both pads over the correct areas at the same time. When I ordered this I was planning to use both so I could reduce the chance of a second hernia. But I'm not using it to help on both sides at the same time.

Breathable fabric stays comfy, tho seams might itch if worn long. Bilateral design works both sides, pads stay put without shifting. Washable, holds shape after cleaning, tho Velcro weakens over time. Offers firm support, tho sizing runs small—check chart close. Decent for daily relief, built sturdy.
