I wear this outside my pants, so it does slide a little when going for a walk. But the feel is excellent. That hole for the kneecap is a terrific idea. The short third wrap works great to stabilize the brace. Two days ago I really hurt the iT band by the knee and couldn't stay upright long because my leg was collapsing at the knee. I had been having a lot of pain in my knee that was limiting my daily walks. I bought another brace which was too short and slipped easily. This one is longer and works better for me. The straps help to keep it in place so it doesn’t slide down very much. I think I’m as happy as to be expected with the brace and it has helped. It’s not perfect but I’m not sure any are. I initially bought 2 knee braces at the recommendation of my orthopedic surgeon, as he knew I was going to Italy 3 weeks after I had torn my meniscus, and that I’d be walking a ton. He was right — I walked 5-7 miles a day for 3 weeks, and this knee brace was TRULY a knee saver. Although the company sent a complimentary knee sleeve to wear under the brace, it was too tight to wear for more than 10 minutes, so I left it at home and wore the brace without the sleeve. HOWEVER, the reason (besides the fit) that I am giving this 5 stars is ALSO for the fact that the customer service rep, Audrey, remembered that I had previously emailed for a larger size, which they didn’t have at the time, and emailed me back almost 6 weeks later to ask for my address so she could send me a bigger size sleeve! And it is SO comfortable! Pros: the two elastic/Velcro supports on the sides provided added support to the brace itself! I also loved that it could bend with my knee, AND that, with my torn meniscus, kept my knee from hyperextending, or extending fully (it was better for me to walk/stand with a slightly bent knee, as you can tell from the side image I have). Cons/caveats: ONE: I will say, if you’ve never worn a knee brace before, you do have to get used to the feeling at first. It took me about 4 days to adjust to wearing the brace itself and finding the right spot to tighten it for my own leg. TWO: I also had to learn the right way to adjust the two Velcro supports to my own comfort level (wrap them in an x around the front, NOT around the back, because if you wrap them around with the x in the back, it can pinch your skin when you walk/bend your knee if you’re not wearing the sleeve underneath). THREE: I don’t think I’d wear this to work out, because it almost provides too much support/is not as flexible if I’d just need a knee brace “just in case,” if I were doing squats, elliptical, etc. I’d probably go with a softer sleeve with some support (maybe even a compression sleeve) as opposed to this brace. But that’s just me. Overall, I wore this almost every day in Europe and it really helped me to walk in a more stable manner. My knee felt stronger with the brace on, and I never felt like my knee was “sliding,” shaking, or about to give when I had it on. I have a likely ligament or tendon tear, and I was sent home from the doctor with the single most uncomfortable and heavy leg brace of all time while I wait an appointment with a specialist, so I bought this instead. The back of this brace is, indeed, more comfortable, but the opening for the knee is too small if you have swelling or a tender spot on either side of the knee cap. It hugs the kneecap too close, and although the cushioning is a thousand times better than the doctor’s brace, unless you want to be poked in the most tender spots of your kneecap all day, I’d say give this a miss for something with a larger knee opening. ... show more

I purchased this for support until my dr visit because I was limping and in serious pain after two 16hr shifts back to back as a Cna. I couldn’t tell you how or what I did to tear my meniscus but I did. Each day got progressively worse. I’m in my 20s and it just was unbearable to walk, squat, do stairs etc. so anyways, I got this because the price and reviews. This was my holy grail because I could not have gone to work without this. It relieved so much pain and helped support that knee so I could work. Between this and propping my leg above the heart at night it helped within the month. When I finally made it to my dr apt he said this brace was really good, comparable to the ones for a couple hundred dollars that therapy tries to sell you. Bought this last week and tried it for the first time today while playing soccer. I don't have stability issues, but I have arthritis in my knee and having restriction with the side to side motion of soccer and some support while pushing off helps me to play with less pain. This brace provides both. It's nice that it has four adjustable velcro straps so you can make it tighter or looser to suit your needs. Easy to get the right fit since it has so many straps and is open in the back until you secure them. Also returnable if needed, unlike some other knee braces I have purchased. ... show more

I just got it. I am impressed with the quality. It is made well. I have an issue with the straps. I may cut them off. I can control the tightness with putting it on as it’s straps. Not a slide on. I would recommend it but if you want to wear tighter pants it won’t work. Baggy and lose fitting only.
