  • Bizarrely awesome for the price. Bring your dremel. Also life lessons.
TLDR version; Sounds amazing/works well/all features work properly *except screenmirroring*/Camera works great but strangely has LEDS that light up(normal IR LEDs for night vision you can't see light from)/Doesn't come with any screws or bracketry/Wont fit standard double din - You'll have to dremel or cut your aftermarket bezel for it to fit/Doesn't work with Android 10 unless you have a software patch it indicates you need in the manual and the seller is not fourthcoming with it/iPhone X and older will screenmirror just by plugging the phone in but audio jitters terribly and randomly through mirroring. Readers version: It came in an absolutely non-descriptive box. It comes with everything shown in the pictures, but nothing else.. Which means it doesn't come with screws or brackets of any type. That being said, I have no idea what the threads are for the screw holes in it.. I'm just gonna have to play that by ear, but for sure of one awesome thing.. It verks.. Not ONLY does it verk, it verks VERY VERY well. Grotequely, god awefully horribly well in fact. For $60.. What the... I have no words really for how much of an outright steal this is. Yeah maybe the icons on screen are a little outdated and no you cant choose between 256+ colors for the buttons and no it doesn't have PWM on the buttons it just hard changes from red blue and green but man.. If I could curse here it still wouldn't give a full idea of how amazing this car radio is for the buck! So backstory of two weeks ago.. My little sis calls me and asks if I know anyone who installs car stereos.. I grew up in the 80's and 90's man. I can't tell you how many car stereos I have installed. And didn't mess them up. So I ask her how much she is willing to invest in this endeavour. $120. Ok, so off to the tried and true single din pioneer we go. But she wants replacement speakers for all four doors. Ok, so $30/pair JVCs which people seem to be very happy with. Add a pigtail and mounting bracket kit and done right? Nope.. She was wanting to see if she could get a touch screen. I'm like... You can't even get the radio for $120 and have a touchscreen. But I told her I would get back to her. Searching around the doobliedoos, interwebs, random questionable websites it hit me like a brick! Well.. Why not see if I could pull it off with a $90 to $100 radio, maybe one set of speakers, just find out which old speakers are still good and cross my fingers. But then I came across this beauti.. Now don't get me wrong. I got a factory 1200 watt 10 speaker Alpine system in my car. A14' Dodge Dart GT. Heck no I wouldn't dare put this in it.. Plus it would be a giant pain just to mount but anyway. I know what is good eatin'. But man ah.. This is GOOD! Maybe not high cuisine good, but it darned sure is Applebee's good! And I was crossing my fingers and just hoping it might be McDonalds good! iPhone XR screen mirroring is almost seamless. Android mirrorlink meh.. Didn't work for me? I have Android 10 and well.. Yeah don't blame the radio, blame Google for continually messing with permissions and changing stuff around. I hate Apple probably more than most but.. Sometimes 20 generations of the same ole' is a good thing! *PS please mr/ms seller post the link to the OS upgrade already?!* I haven't had a chance to test the backup camera, but boy howdy! The radio picks up a few Stereo Channels without an antenna even connected man. Try that with a Pioneer. And bluetooth works flawlessly, call quality isn't teebag by any stretch, heck, it has a good 6 to 8 different manufacturer logos (I'm sure copyright infringement but I haven't seen anything. Oh wait, look over there! *run*) The most mindblowing thing out of all of this is the sound. I mean really. No it's pointless to listen to a video on youtube or here and try to get an idea of how something sounds just like you can't see how good a high quality 4k tv looks like on a 1080p tv. Pointless. You just have to take the leap. I am very very well pleased and I believe my sister will be as well.. Once I figure out how to mount the dedgum thing.. Side note.. If your wondering if this thing will fit in your car like the 1000+ questions asked on here.. Do everyone a favor yeah? Go look at your car.. And ask yourself that question. You have din which is the narrow rectangle, and then you have double din which is still a rectangle but much closer to a square. If you can't figure that out, just go pay someone to pick and install a stereo for you ok? It'll save you and others a bit of heartache. Yeah even if you have double din this may not look like factory but guess what? Neither is anything else out there. Why? Because it's not a FACTORY stereo. It's an aftermarket stereo. Something for you kids out there to note: What you need to install any stereo in a car: Knowledge of what din sizes are *see above* Knowledge of HOW to remove your car bezel and factory radio *Also look on youtube* Knowledge of soldering and shrink tubing. *Look on youtube if you don't know* Knowledge of color coding and cross referencing color coding by car make and model as well as automotive standard wiring *youtube/google will be your friend there* Once you learn all this knowledge, THEN ask yourself.. Can this radio fit in your car? And if so, are you ready to tackle that task by research instead of asking for answers? It may be hard, and a new experience but life lessons man! Learn em! You may not know everything about anything or even much at all (I don't), but EVERYONE knows how to google. And yes folks, this is a life lesson. Maybe not a big one but you never know till you try. ... show more

  • Good radio if you have stock speakers and need bluetooth
I bought this radio knowing it wasn't the best on the market. With that being said, I was looking for a cheaper touch screen radio with bluetooth and this is the perfect radio for just that. I have a 2009 Avalanche with Bose Stereo that I installed this radio into. Good things about the radio: - It has bluetooth, aux, USB, and even a Micro SD card reader. I was interested in the Micro SD reader because I have a dash cam that I thought would be cool to review footage if I ever needed too. However, I did not get a chance to try that feature and make sure it works. - The design and layout is pretty nice, I expected the apps to look fuzzy and the screen to look distorted, but it did not. - The radio is self is not long, if you have a vehicle that has a shallow hole to put a radio into, it will work just fine. - It plays music! It does exactly what it should. Things that I noticed: - When ending a call using the factory On-star over the speaker system, the radio reboots and the phone continues to play music on the phone speakers until it connects back to radio. - The volume is very quiet compared to factory radio head unit. Full volume on this radio is about half the volume of factory, very disappointing being that I am someone who blares the radio constantly. Also at times, the radio's volume is quieter than normal, until it randomly increases on its own.... very strange. - There is not a lot of tuning capabilities if you are running a subwoofer like I am. You have bass, treble, and a drag-to-change chart for fading. - The radio stops playing music when you switch into reverse, but quickly resumes once back into a different gear, kind of a neat feature. - I attempted to use the factory steering wheel controls, however they did not work. I was using the PAC-RP5-GM31 module for the steering wheel controls, chime box, and Bose adapter. The PAC module picked up on the steering wheel input, but the radio didn't. could be a wiring issue, but I tried multiple different ways to get it to work. - The bluetooth music did not show any artist or album info, also it took a few seconds before seeing the new song name change on the radio screen. The sound would be there but not the info. I did not get a chance to wire in the back- up camera, but looks like it might be decent. The screen had a lot of glare on a really sunny day, made it difficult to see what was going on. The actual radio screen wasn't as bad as I have seen in some YouTube review videos, it definitely had a modern look to it. Overall, this would be a great radio for someone who wants a cheaper touch screen with bluetooth! It is the perfect basic radio that does what its suppose to. I did end up returning this unit due to some of the issues noted above, mainly the volume difference between the stock head unit and this one. Maybe it has something to do with the factory amplified audio... even with the conversion module? Either way, I would still recommend this unit if you have a stock system with no amplified audio! ... show more
