  • Replaced my phone
I have had this phone previously but the cordless phone's buttons got so they didn't always work. It was always reliable, so I replaced it with the same thing.

  • Best phone for hearing--needs other things redesigned
Sound is perfect. Very easy to hear, which was the point in buying it. Instructions are a nightmare, as others have said. I found the best way to deal with that was to set up most of it without looking at them and experimenting. Then read about only specific issues I couldn't figure out. Receiver needs to fit more snugly in cradle--not great design there, as it's easy to knock it off the hook. My biggest issue that absolutely needs to be redesigned is that it has audible beep to inform of message, instead of a visual blinking light. Hello, this phone is designed for people with hearing loss, so the beep is not helpful--and is beyond annoying because I usually can't identify what the sound is or where it's coming from. I also might not want to deal with messages yet and don't want that beeping sound nagging me while I attend to other things. Overall, I'm glad I have this phone. I've tried several phones and no other phone has the "clarity" of sound on my end as well as the person I'm speaking with--they have quit complaining about not being able to hear me. ... show more

  • It was okay
Got this for my hard of hearing husband. It was okay. A bit difficult to get then cordless handsets to pair for some reason but we got of it because he qualified for one of those hearing impaired phones that provide real time texts thru his audiologist. He now will answer a phone and talk to people. He didn’t do that with this phone because he still could not understand what people were saying. If hearing isn’t really bad this phone may work but it really didn’t for him ... show more

  • Works great
My mother's 30 year old corded wall phone finally died. Tried several $40 phones. She rejected them all. This one she liked. The only negative is it's not wall mountable.

  • I got fooled for a second time
This was the 2nd speaker phone that I ordered, with the desire to have a hands free speaker phone that had amplified volume on both the base and the handset, The first one, was a VTech model and it's volume was so pathetic that I returned it. I will point out that it was not advertised as a amplified volume unit, but I gave it a chance anyway due to a few positive (and misleading reviews which boasted about the volume that turned out to be false). So, I did more research and found this Clarity B814 cc model that was advertised as having amplification. So I ordered it. At first, I was a little pleased with it - until I received the first incoming voice mail message for the built in voice mail messaging feature. Trying to listen to the message, revealed it to be 100 percent completely unintelligible, filled with cracks and pops and static that was so bad, that the message was 100 percent unintelligible. So, to test this further, I had a friend call my land line number from their cell phone and leave a message. When I tried to listen to the message, it was also 100 percent unintelligible, filled with pops and cracks & static that was so horrible that the message was unlistenable. I am returning this product and do not recommend it for anyone who is shopping for a quality hands free speaker phone for a land line home phone number. ... show more

  • Due To The Unfavorable Reviews|Stayed Away From This Product
My mom and dad are elderly. Almost 90. I've been looking a Clarity for YEARS. Due to the unfavorable reviews, I've always stayed away from this product. Even though it qualified as one of the best fits for them in features and price. I always read the worst reviews first, to see if I would be interested in taking the worst risk. When I could not get off the fence, I called a few distributors on-line that sell Clarity products and asked them random questions about the products. They all reported that it was one of their best sellers and why. So, far, my parents love the phone. The volume, the style, the features. I can hear them clearer. I purchased 2 additional handsets. My father loves the cordless phone. Mom loves the corded phone. The extra hands sets are for the bathroom and kitchen. I purchased the 3 year protection plan as well. Stay tuned I will share the sustainability of the phone over time. But, again, so far so good. ... show more

  • Figuring Out the Instructions WAS the PROBLEM
I wrote this when the phone came: This is a phone advertised for the aging. It may turn out to work as such but understanding the instructions is an impossible task for those of us who learned to think clearly and read the English language. It's ridiculous. It took my Ph.D. son to figure the User Guide out. Don't buy it unless you, too, have such a son. Here's what I think now: It turns out the company has wonderful, wonderful customer service and they'll almost reach out and hold your hand as they explain how to solve any question or problem in getting the phone to work satisfactorily. If you go online they also have video taped information about their customer service (that could be spelled with all caps - SERVICE) as well as a how-to segment. I can only imagine, with the Clarity management that's in evidence on the Internet, the company will find a way to make their instruction booklet work for those of us who are "age challenged." I'm changing my ranking to five stars. ... show more
