My Dyson v10 inexplicably died this week. I was in the middle of vacuuming and suddenly the trigger stopped working. At first I thought it was the battery but after a quick google search it looks like this is a common issue with the flimsy plastic trigger. My vacuum is old but I originally paid $400 for it and it seems like a waste to spend another (almost) half a grand to get a new one so I looked up repair videos and found this little gem. For $13 I was able to repair my Dyson and avoid a hefty repair or new purchase cost. This trigger is all metal and it looks like a 1:1 replica of the original plastic trigger except in much sturdier metal. Admittedly installation of this thing was not for the faint of heart. However this is due to Dyson making this thing unnecessarily difficult to service. They do provide installation videos which was very helpful. Once you get the trigger dissembled popping this new trigger in was a breeze. The trigger is durable and will probably outlast the vacuum now. We have a 2 year old dyson animal 11 and the power started cutting out and eventually stopped working. After an internet search I found out a common problem was the trigger cracking internally …sure enough ours was cracked. I purchased the metal replacement and was so thankful for the included QR code that linked to YouTube directions on how to replace the trigger. There was no way I would have figured out how to access and replace the trigger otherwise. It’s also frustrating there is no way to tell the trigger is cracked until you take the entire vacuum apart which is many steps. Basically if it cuts out it’s probably the trigger. If the battery life is just dwindling replace the battery…I know from experience diagnosing 2 different cordless dyson vacuums. I highly recommend the product and seller. Accurate description, shipped and arrived in quickly and on time and the QR code for replacement directions is on the product packaging. ... show more

Got the job done not sure if it was my fault or the design but the vacuums assembly didn't go back on as before fully so it tends to turn on the vacuum with me not even pressing the trigger hence the 4 stars. It does not bother me though as when it’s charging it disables the vacuum so I’m quite happy with the much sturdier design of the trigger compared to dysons plastic one saved me 800$ aswell for a new vacuum so I’ll consider it a win. Also if you decide to do a diy replacement it was quite a challenge and prepare for some tight squeezes you’ll need some long micro tools to replace it. Awesome replacement trigger for our Dyson. The original plastic trigger started working only intermittently and we figured out it was probably broken somewhere. I am only saying a one star primarily to get your attention. The circuit board was sealed on my Dyson Cyclone V.10 so I was unable to proceed with installation. If you follow the video prior to ordering, you can see if your circuit board is sealed before ordering. I think Dyson may have changed the design. Although this is advertised as an upgraded replacement part and has a QR code to watch the installation video - there just is not enough information in the video to allow for a good successful install. I’m very handy with tools and follow directions well….but I set this aside and will continue to not enjoy my Dyson. ... show more
