    • I had low expectations already, but this went below those
I bought this radio because it was cheap to throw into my old 2008 Impala. Mainly just wanted CarPlay and the backup Cam. I will be returning this. Here are my Pros and Cons, but ill start with the Cons... Cons: - CarPlay would not connect wirelessly. I tried and tried and my phone wont connect. Tried instructions and all. If there was a way to connect, its much more difficult than it should be. - Wired CarPlay worked, but when connected, there is not a way to switch back to the Home screen to adjust the EQ or other settings. - Speaking of EQ, its one of those large graphic equalizers with about 10 bars. You have to educate yourself online to see what bar does what. I feel like I am now a qualified music engineer. - Voice function would not work - Lights on the buttons did not work. So you cannot see it at night time - Backup camera switching was terrible. Sometimes it would not display when put in reverse. - When backup camera is activated, CarPlay pauses - Home screen has frozen up multiple times and sometimes randomly reboots itself. - Did I mention that I cannot connect my phone via bluetooth or wireless CarPlay? - Music sound quality is horrible. I have a Fosgate subwoofer that could not properly connect because of bad output - there is a delay when you push the volume button, by about 1.5 to 2 seconds. - There will be a thick bezel going around your Unit once installed. Seems like older aftermarket radios and takes up valuable space. Pros: - Phone Screen Mirroring worked - USB C port worked well - Car chimes worked well That is all ... show more

    • Getting Better!
*UPDATE* 8/2025 - Updating to 4 stars from 2 and updated review: Not long after writing my review below, the seller reached out in an attempt to remedy the issues I was having. At the time the car was out of state with my kid for college so there was nothing I could do. During this time I learned from my kid it was now randomly shutting off and on by itself... The seller again followed up a few months later and again offered a replacement stereo. When the car came home for the summer I took them up on the offer. As of now, the new one is installed and working well. The new one still has background noises while talking on Bluetooth, but it's probably 60% better, so we're getting there. Still LOVE the quick connectivity and wireless CarPlay. I'll update again as time goes on but definite kudos to the seller for trying to make it right! 8/2024: We've been using it for a few months now and have mixed feelings. Overall it seems to be pretty decent. It connects quickly, love the screen mirroring, the responsiveness of the screen and the wireless CarPlay connection, but HATE the Bluetooth background noise! For some reason, while talking to someone driving in the car using the Bluetooth, it's VERY noisy with electronic interference and static noise. It's not something you hear or notice in the car but the person on the other end of the line hears it constantly. Unfortunately, I'll be replacing it soon. ... show more

I got sick of the old, outdated car stereo and decided it was time for an upgrade, and got my car with this double din stereo and it has made driving more enjoyable. I can use navigation, make calls, and play music without plugging in my phone. The voice control works great, so I barely have to touch anything while driving, Improves safety on the road. The screen is clear and responsive, and I love that I can watch videos or mirror my phone when parked, my kids can watch cartoons when waitting in the car. The included backup camera was a huge bonus, it's HD, waterproof, and gives a wide angle view that makes parking much safer. Sound quality is surprisingly good, and Bluetooth connects fast with no issues. Overall, this was a perfect upgrade for my car, and it makes everyday driving and long trips much more fun and convenient! ... show more

For the price, you can't ask for more. Pros: Sounds good, Android connects well, camera is good, and features are generally good. Cons: The volume is a bit loud when it turns on, it doesn't save settings, and if you use Maps, you can't use the radio at the same time; you have to stick with Android exclusively. If you use the radio, you can't use Maps at the same time. It's been working perfectly for several months. ... show more

I like that this radio is completely generic. There is NO brand name anywhere on the exterior so it blends in perfectly with my interior without an oddball brand name staring at you. It fits well and looks like it came from the factory that way. Installation was easy. I didn’t install the back up camera yet. It’s a budget Bluetooth radio that looks and sounds great in my opinion. I got the Linux version because it was $50 cheaper. The display looks a little bare bones compared to Android OS and I guess there’s limited functionality outside of Carplay, but I didn’t need that other stuff anyway. Once Apple Car Play starts, the display looks identical to Android OS. I was even able to load my own splash screen which makes the radio look even more factory when you first turn it on. Lastly, customer service has been fantastic! I emailed them about a couple questions I had and I heard back within hours. I just put it in the car so I can’t speak of longevity of the unit. ... show more

    • No Complaints So Far
Installation: I installed the unit in my 2013 Chevy Silverado. Naturally you do need a dash kit and there are dozens available in all different price ranges. I ending up buying a Metra 95-3305 and it fits perfectly. To retain the truck's factory features like the door chime, turn signal sounds etc, I bought a Axxess AXDI-GLMLN29. I do streaming almost all the time, so I don't care about listening to the radio. But if you do, be advised you do need an antenna adapter because the stock GM antenna lead doesn't fit into this unit's antenna port. The adapters are cheap though. Functionality: As for the head unit itself, I love it and don't have any major issues so far. Others have reported bluetooth functionality inconsistencies, but its been fine for me. The first couple times it acted like hadn't already done the initial connect and I thought "oh geez, here we go", but thereafter it's been connecting automatically just fine. The Android Auto feature works great; just like factory OEM in rental cars I have had. Going from my 2013 GM'S lame, "held over from the 1990s" technology to the modern tech we're all used to is a thrill. The only thing I have noticed is that the screen display seems to dim on it's own. Not to the point of it being too dark, but enough to notice it isn't where I set it. There may yet be a setting I missed, I don't know. Audio: I'm no audiophile by any means, and at first I was real disappointed with the audio. But after tweaking the EQ, it is just fine. My truck has Sirius-XM satellite radio and I lose that functionality by replacing the factory radio. There may be a way to retain that, I don't know. I just stream from the phone app for those times I want to hear XM. Update: Two weeks after installation. The unit was operating fine for the first week. When walking through the system settings, I made the mistake of activating the touch screen calibration setting. This brought up a black screen with a red circle in the center. No other buttons or icons were visible, so no way to cleanly exit the screen. So I touched the upper right corner where the "return to previous screen" icon would normally be and the red dot moved there. I touched the upper left where the home icon would normally be and the red dot moved there. Same thing with lower left and right corners. Eventually, a screen came up with three buttons and one of them actually got me out of that screen but now none of the icons/buttons respond. The touch areas are completely skewed and either don't respond, or bring up something completely different than what is labeled. I cannot get to the system settings at all so I cannot try a system reset. There is a reset button but it seems to do nothing but reboot the system. I have emailed support but I'm not optimistic about their responsiveness or ability to help. We'll see. Update 2: Lucked out last night and got the touch screen recalibrated somehow so I'm back in business. Got reply from support today telling me how to fix it. They told me to put all five fingers on the screen which will bring up the touch screen calibration function. Then touch each dot as they light up around the screen. Now, ya see... if your owners manual had told me that in the first place it wouldn't have taken me a week to figure it out myself. I do commend the support people for getting back to me. I honestly didn't think anyone would. Update 3: I discovered something disappointing today. When traveling with my 5 year old, I always turn on my phone's hotspot so her tablet can connect and she can watch cartoons. This will also disable the wifi - I think its a Verizon rule or something. Anyway, without that wifi the head unit WILL NOT communicate with the phone. At all. The steering wheel controls don't function either. Bluetooth status shows it is connected to the car just fine. I hit the Android Auto button, and the screen goes black and there it sits. I don't use the head unit's wifi functionality at all so why does it care? It's connected via bluetooth. My phone has no headphone jack to connect by wire either. Swell. ... show more
