  • My son loves this bed
Color: White
My son really liked the bed. It's nice that it's made of wood looks noble.

  • rickety, takes days to build, and look out for price changes!!!
Color: White
Installation: It was difficult to build this bed. Me, along with multiple others, took a week to get it all done. They gave one small allen wrench for everything, so only one person could work on it at a time. There's another step that says it needs a Phillip's Screwdriver. Luckily, we had that, but that's not what we actually needed. We needed a drill for that part. It was specifically the part for all those small wood pieces that go under the mattress. There were no holes, so we needed a drill to drill down the nails they gave us. We eventually found someone who could let us borrow their drill. Please, if any of you have a drill with an allen wrench attachment sort of thing or have spare allen wrenches, this will go by much faster. Sturdiness: I'm well below the weight limit, but every time I move on this bed, it creaks and rocks. I can even stand beside the bed and shake it. Everything is screwed in properly and tightly; I've checked that multiple times. The bottom poles are just uneven and two of them are floating in the air, which is why the bed rocks and shakes so much. It's a bit concerning, honestly. But what am I going to do? Spend another week unbuilding the bed, return it, then hope and pray I find a better product? Nope. I'll look for adding more wood pieces and/or putting something underneath the floating poles. The ladder feels sturdy, at least. Looks: It overall looks nice. The desk is as large as the photos, which is the main reason why I bought this one. The color is more of an off-white, which I disliked. The paint job was also poor. I can clearly see the original wood color and patterns behind the thin "white" paint layer. ALSO! WHEN BUILT, THE DESK LOOKS REALLY LOW TO THE GROUND! IF YOU HAVE A TALLER CHAIR, THE DESK MAY BE TOO LOW! This is the part that gets me the most upset: I originally bought this at about $570. Along the way, the package became "undeliverable," so it was automatically being returned. I assumed it was because the package was damaged along the way. I ordered another right away, wanting the bed as soon as possible. That was a mistake. The price jumped $70, and I didn't even notice. Now (as I am writing this), the price is $30 less than the first time I bought it and $100 less than what I bought it for the second time. So be aware of the price fluctuations. If you really want this one for any particular reason, I'll give you this advice in terms of the price: download Honey (or some other app that tracks prices of online products and their price changes over time) and see the price changes over the past 120 days. For all you know, the price just jumped or the trend shows it may drop to a lower price. On this product, you can either spend the extra $100+ like me or wait a month or so and save $100. I've only been using this for 3 days now, but those are all my complaints. I'd only recommend it if you're up for the really difficult build (likely only difficult if you're not very experienced), don't mind the other flaws, and really really want a bunk bed desk with a big desk. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. ... show more

  • Great Bed, Huge Desktop & Very Sturdy
Color: Espresso
Definitely recommend this, great quality bed for a reasonable price. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the wooden dowel pins are, for the most part, an appropriate length. However, since the manufacturer made all of the dowel pins the same length, the dowel pin which secures the desktop to the leg / gusset support (in the middle of the desk) is actually simply too long. This causes the pin to push past the "predrilled" hole depth allowance (on bottom side) and so cracking the desktop surface on the opposite side. Thankfully I simply loosened the steel bolts to allow myself to leave a gap between the gusset and desktop and I used folded cardboard "shims" so that I could subsequently tighten the steel bolts once more, making sure the assembly remained sturdy. Of course, I also had to "flatten" the bulging cracking surface back down with a mallet and a towel (don't strike the bare surface, it will get damaged). ... show more

  • A little pricey, but otherwise does the job
Color: White
My bed came pretty beat up in several places, but thankfully it was only the table part. Customer service told me it was a minimum of 8 weeks to get a free replacement part, so I just put the bed and table together and didn't bother (as I needed a place to sleep and work and couldn't exactly wait 8 weeks)! One word of warning: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A POWER DRILL. The bed support slats do not come with pre-drilled holes and you will need to push the screws through with a power drill. One of my bed slats couldn't even get screwed in properly because it lined up with a place in the support beam where the wood is 100% solid and the screw would simply not go through, even with a power drill. Otherwise it's fairly easy to assemble — I am 5'0" and not exactly the strongest, but managed to assemble it in several hours. ... show more

  • Shipping was SLOW, but the bed & desk are great
Color: White
Our box came looking like it had been to war so I was quite concerned about the product but everything was in perfect condition! So extra credit to the interior packaging! Total build took us 3.5 hours but that includes one fifteen minute break and one major direction issue! We used a drill rather than the provided allenkey but made sure to have it on a low power setting and not to very tighten. We’d probably still be working if we had just used the allenkey. We also did need the recommended rubber mallet as some of the wooden dowels used for assembly did not want to go in. The issue we had was that the lower headboards support the desk and they have a correct direction that is not indicated in the directions. Thanks to some quick thinking we were able to correct the issue without too much trouble but it cost us about a half hour to so. The product seems like it is made from quality wood. We didn’t encounter any splitting and after building the bed and desk seem quite sturdy. The biggest issue didn’t have to do with the item itself but the delivery. It took quite awhile for it to come and I had paid for delivery on a particular date and time and they missed the delivery date and I had to wait five additional days. Since I had already sold the bed we had my daughter ended up sleeping on a mattress on the floor for a week. So definitely build in some extra shipping time to your plan. ... show more

  • Attractive, functional bed.
Color: White
I wanted my daughter to have a maximum amount of floor space in her bedroom and a sizeable desk for her to complete schoolwork and art. This desk fit the bill. It arrived with one of the long posts very damaged. My husband has woodworking skills and was able to repair and paint. This was a must because it would have been impossible to repackage for a return. The seller did reimburse a modest amount for this inconvenience. It took some time to put the bed together and you will need more than one adult to accomplish this task. Once together the bed is lovely and functional. My daughter is very pleased with it and so am I. ... show more
