    • After proper placement sounds good
At first I did not like the sound bar. After I purchased a new Roku ultra and played around with the placement of the sound bar. I have it tilted. It sounds great and happy with the purchase.

    • Incredible Sound from a Well-built Soundbar
These are my impressions from Day 1; should anything change, I'll post and update. Unpacking the soundbar was a confirmation that what was on the inside would be OK. First there was the Amazon Box to hide the contents, then a Donner Sleeve, then a sturdy cardboard box and sturdy foam supports on the inside. The soundbar is small but heavy for its size and impressively constructed. The glass top is especially so, although the lights and descriptors were a bit hard to discern. Installation was a snap and I installed the very complete Donner app to my iPhone. I've read in many reviews that the Hisense U8K series ULED TVs have extremely good sound and that a soundbar was probably not needed. The sound from my 55 inch variety is true to the reviews. But when I pressed the "ON" button on the Donner Soundbar I noticed a dramatic increase in sound quality, with much clearer voices. I switched to a music video channel and was pleasantly surprised. Then, I found the Dolby Atmos button on the remote and in the app. Shazam!! While the normal music video was neither of a current genre nor Dolby Atmos, its sound quality was just as impressive as my music system, even more so. Part of that may be that the 5 Donner Soundbar speakers are front-firing while the TV speakers point down, but responsible for only part of the quality increase. I am currently adding a Klipsch R-100SW Subwoofer and a Panasonic DP-UB420-K 4K Blu-Ray DVD Player through Amazon. With respect to the latter, I just have to experience the surround-sound effects from Dolby Atmos and other included features. So, after Day 1, I'm very impressed with the Donner Soundbar 3.0. It comes, currently, at a very attractive price after a $100 coupon is applied. It's certainly better than every other soundbar I've owned, two of which I recently returned to Amazon. Give it a good look. I will and will let you know if anything changes. I'm betting that it won't. REVIEW UPDATE 10/09/2023 I’m truly saddened that I had to return this soundbar to Amazon. The sound quality and surround sound is excellent. The problem is that I could not reliably achieve it. It never worked reliably two times in a row. I thought the solution was to activate the soundbar first, then the TV. That worked once, but after that did not. Part of the problem may be with my new Hisense 55U8K TV. So I will eventually purchase a Hisense Dolby Atmos soundbar, hoping that will rectify my angst. Donner’s soundbar is impressively built. They should publish a list of 4K Dolby Atmos TVs,that they have tested, and which will function reliably with their soundbar. ... show more

The sound bar looks great. It is easy to hook up and it gets plenty loud. I wish there were more options for hookup. I would like to have this hooked to my dvd player and TV but I dont think thats possible. It has BT, HDMI earc and optical. The 1st night I learned that if you dont turn it off it will play an annoying sound every 15 mins or so. Also there is no power button on the device, only the remote. Make sure to remember to shut it off! I used the optical port. The sound was loud and I have a bass to hook to it, but I dont feel like it offers a surround sound effect. If your looking for something with good, clean or loud sound than this sound bar might be what your looking for. ... show more

    • It is ok but no, wow!
I was trying to improve the quality of my TV audio without having to use my 5.1 home theater system, but unfortunately, this sound bar, despite is very well built and having lots of features in the app and also a variety of options to be connected like ARC option which is huge deal because you can use the same remote on your tv for the sound bar and also can be controlled from your phone as well, but the main thing is the sound quality which is different from what I was expecting. The main issue is that the sound quality is not that good; I would say it is just a bit better than my default TV sound; what I do feel got improved is the voices you can hear them with much more clarity, but the surround sound is not a big deal. Combining this sound bar with subwoofer equipment would be a game changer, way better. In conclusion, for those with an old tv, this will improve the sound a lot, but most modern TVs have an excellent sound similar to this. This soundbar is ok but not great. ... show more
