Description

The DonJoy UltraSling III Shoulder Support Sling leads the way in both comfort and convenience. The soft padded adjustable straps provide a customized fit and provides an incredible level of comfort. The breathable inner lining wicks away moisture and provides ventilation. It promotes auxiliary air exchange to reduce risk of secondary infections. The de-rotation strap connects to the DonJoy UltraSling III and prevents internal rotation by securely holding your arm in a neutral position. It allows your arm to be positioned in a variety of positions dependent on post-operative requirements (either more posterior or anterior). The quick release buckles and easy-open front panel allow you to easily remove this shoulder sling for exercise or therapy. Ideal for post- operative treatment following, rotator cuff repairs, Bankart procedures, capsular shifts, glenohumeral (GH) dislocation/subluxation, and soft tissue repairs/strains. Universal fit allows the DonJoy UltraSling III Shoulder Support Sling to be worn on either the left or the right arm.

Stuck in a sling for 6 weeks after surgery. Tried cheaper slings, but this one is much more comfortable. Also for those first few days when my arm was complete dead weight, these clips were easier to attach and reattach.

My husband fell 7 weeks ago dislocating his shoulder and eventually having to have surgery a month after. My daughter scoffed at the flimsy sling the ER put on her dad before sending him home. She found this online almost immediately and strongly recommended that we get one for my husband. She has a genetic disorder which often results in joints dislocating with or without provocation; consequently, she has high quality braces, supports, slings, etc for nearly every joint and really does know what she's talking about when it comes to supporting injuries. This DonJoy brace has given my husband much more comfort than the flimsy ER sling. My daughter helped us adjust the straps and showed us how to get him into and out of the sling with a minimal amount of movement. The orthopaedic specialists were impressed when we first met with them (several weeks after the initial injury!) as this is the exact sling they use with their surgery patients! He still is uncomfortable and is facing the possibility of shoulder replacement, but having a well-made, well-designed sling is helping to keep his discomfort to a minimum. ... show more

    • Donjoy III is the Best!

The Ultra Sling III is so much better than the II. We bought this after my husband broke his clavicle (Thanks to Prime for the quick delivery!) to get him out of the barely supportive blue one that the hospital gave him. Since this was the second time he's broken it, we knew what to expect. The bolster is *highly* useful. He used it below the arm for extra support until his surgery (where they place the bolster liked in the photo - it's better for circulation & relaxation of the shoulder muscle). Back to the III VS. II: This one breathes. It's made with a mesh - way to clean, quick to dry. The II only has a felt-like material for the entire sling which doesn't breathe and looks like it wouldn't dry as fast (we got to compare as the Dr office was going to give us a II though insurance, but when we compared the two, the III. was far superior). Otherwise, all the gear is the same (the ball is for hand exercises/stability to prevent blood clots/improve circulation - squeeze for 3-5 minutes, 3-5 times a day). ... show more

i wanted something comfortable and functional, this was it .. i seem to constantly pull my shoulder out of place, and the usual doctor visit is an xray, pain shot, and shoulder wrap...now i take care of it with this sling .. it's very comfortable once you get it set to the position you need and after a while you really don't notice it unless it's your primary hand or arm ... it's well built and it should last some time .. it's also easy to put on and adjust the straps to your comfort level .... it's great to have around for those times when you want to self medicate and relax with a beer ... show more

    • Great but one problem

I had a reverse shoulder replacement done by an HMO. I got the cheapy DonJoy stabilizer. I used that one last year with my first replacement and had nothing but uncomfortable days in it. So, I bought this one for the second time around. It is so much more comfortable than the other, it supports the wrist and has a cushy neck piece. My problem was that no matter how much I shortened the neck strap, I could not get my elbow and back of my arm to rest. The pocket was just a bit too deep. My OT and PT always mentioned this and tried to get it to work. Even so, it was still so much better than what I used last year. ... show more
