Features

  • Adaptive Radius Technology - gives you maximum tuning stability by mechanically matching the curvature over the strings in ANY position, on ANY guitar neck (steel string acoustic, electric or hybrid nylon).
  • Unique Tension Control - By simply squeezing to attach and squeezing to release, the Performance 3 capo gives you complete and intuitive control over the pressure you place on your strings, meaning you can have confidence that you are in control and will keep your guitar in tune.
  • Easy to use - Designed for one-handed use, in any sized hands. With a little practice it's nearly as quick to move between frets as a spring capo, but without the need for frequent retuning.
  • Versatile - Perfect for any steel six-string acoustic, electric or hybrid nylon string guitars. Stores easily behind the nut for quick and easy access, or on the headstock.

Description

The G7th Performance 3 capo is the culmination of years of designing, tweaking, and improving - but most importantly, listening to guitarists and their views on what a capo should do. • Expensive but it works best
Color: Silver Style: Modern
After cursing many a capo for their poor functioning, I have finally found a favorite capo. Now I carry the others to loan out in case someone forgets theirs.

  • Not Worth it As An Upgrade to First Version, but YMMV
Color: Silver Style: Modern
From the perspective of a bluegrass porch picker that uses extra heavy strings on top and medium on the bottom: Having used the first version occasionally for a few years, it did an okay job on the medium weight strings of the Martin acoustic. The biggest advantage of this capo is that it is more difficult to damage frets. Some of the great quality frets that really clamp down (such as Shubb) can damage frets if not used with care. A couple of guitars got neat divots where the Shubb got all the buzz out - it cost $$$ to fix one. Not the fault of the Shubb though, it was definitely user error. This newer Performance Capo with ART is narrower, and more difficult to release than the prior version. On the acoustic, it tends to get knocked up the neck when playing. It is slightly narrower than the original, which may have something to do with it. The idea that somehow ART was going to get that last little bit of buzz out of the acoustic was the reason to buy this new version instead of a replacement pad for the first version. That did not work out in this case. Placed carefully, the Performance ART works purty dern well until it gets a little touch that slides it away from the perfect position. From there, its back to reposition it and then squeeze it harder. If one has the original version with a worn string pad, it might be worth getting a new string pad instead of the Performance ART. Otherwise, for a first time buyer, or somebody that uses a capo on an electric guitar, this new Performance is expensive, but mostly functional and unlikely to cause damage. Edit: After spending more time with this capo on steel string acoustic guitars, it is not holding well, even though I'm careful not to bump it now. This capo might work great on an electric guitar with light strings and a narrow, thin neck. The first version, that doesn't have ART, is still working well after a long time, except that it could use a new pad. It is frustrating to play a while and then have the capo loosen up. ... show more

  • Got the gold one to match Taylor guitar hardware!
Color: 18kt Gold Plate Style: Modern
Really neat and compact and very simple to use. Have tried it on all my guitars with differing fret board radius' and works very effectively with no buzz on any of them. Big bonus it looks really great on the two guitars with gold hardware to match! On another note, delivery was surprisingly quick from USA to New Zealand. ... show more

  • adjustable tension
Color: Silver Style: Modern
If you capo an electric guitar often with light strings ( nine or ten thousands little e string) this adjustable tension device is a great for preventing tuning distortion. The G7 is low profile and stays out of your hand's way. However, it is not cheap.

  • Great capo
Color: Silver Style: Modern
Easy function. Easy on. Easy off. A bit expensive but it’s the only one I want to use now. Well made. Should last.

  • Thought it was going to be better
Color: Silver Style: Modern
i was hoping for the best with this as I was under the impression this was the "cream of the crop" in capos and that the ART feature was supposed to make it work with any kind of strings and guitar, laying down well so there is no twanging or dead sounds. But this has not been the case for me. In fairness, I have it on a Cordoba Mini-II ECB which is not a standard sized guitar. But I get one string where it doesn't really press down as well as on the other strings so I'm not that impressed for the extra money I spent. I don't know enough about them to know if I just go a defective one or not? ... show more

  • Best capo for electric guitar
Color: 18kt Gold Plate Style: Modern
I have purchased several capos, from less expensive (Shubb, Kyser) to quite spendy (Thalia). Before getting the G7th, I used my Shubb capo the most. I loved that it was low-profile and easy to use, but my guitars - especially my electrics - still didn't maintain stable tuning when using the capo. Enter the G7th Performance 3. It's easy to use, nice-looking (I got the gold), relatively low profile, doesn't feel like it's squeezing the life out of my guitar's neck, and, most importantly, my guitar stays in tune when I use it! Electric, acoustic, doesn't matter, they stay in tune. A little pricy, but worth the money. Highly recommend - just do it! ... show more

Lock and release is excellent. Probably more than I need, but happy with it
