Living in MN, we can comfortably relax outdoors from May - Oct, give or take, which is also Mosquito Season. Winters deliver about 48" of snow, occasionally 12" at a time. Given that, we wanted to use our yard with the option of privacy, a little protection from the insects, in something that could handle snow. So we looked at hundreds of gazebos online and a few more at local retailers. In settling on this one, we were attracted by the curved steel roof, both for snow removal and the distinctive look of it. The dual track privacy/bug nets are common among gazebos but a must for us. And we wanted a kit we could build ourselves. Before it arrived, we hired a contractor to erect a platform, and that was critical, as it turned out, because the tight construction allowed virtually no room for error. The surface had to be dead level so the uprights were plumb allowing the roof panels to slide in snugly. Plus, the pre-drilled holes would not accept the steel bolts unless the pieces fit together perfectly. I would say it all went per the plan. It looks great and offers enough room for 4 chairs and a fire table. A couple of caveats. The instructions are adequate but could definitely use a video in which someone assembles it step-by-step. (I wish I had made such a video but did not.) In addition, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to construct the roof alone. You do not need 4 people, but with 4, this could be done in a weekend. Took me about 40 hours, with help from others here and there. The instructions do not mention grounding the gazebo, so we added that. Finally, we added weight to the uprights with pea gravel for greater stability. If you do this, do it before you add the roof. All in, it's a lovely addition to our yard. Time will tell if it holds up to the harsh weather, but so far, it truly exceeds our expectations. March 23, 2023 Status Update After a hard, snowy MN winter, spring is in the air, and our gazebo has survived. Perhaps, it has even thrived. We opted to shut it down in early November. Even with the sides zipped in place, the gazebo has no ability to retain heat. With temperatures dipping down below freezing and then below zero (F), and the snow piling on and around it, we did not use it at all after Halloween. The good news is it held up to the great weight of heavy snowfalls and arctic windstorms just fine. Now, we're looking forward to daily use again in a few more weeks, certainly by May 1, give or take. It still looks like new after 5 months in the freezer! ... show more

This item arrives in 4 boxes/shipments. Ours arrived on two separate days, but that was fine for us. The company is VERY communicative about this, which was appreciated! We had a couple of snafus when we were putting it together. The diagrams were wrong on the top bug netting pieces, and we got it wrong twice before we figured out the issue. The pics will show you the wrong and right way to attach them. We have a few spots where the netting pieces are bubbled up, but a little Gorilla tape will fix it right up. We also had two extra holes in two roof panels (it was in the same place on two of the same panel), and we just plugged them with an added bolt. It took my husband and I about 13 total hours to put this together over three days, having our son pop out to hold up the things I couldn't reach (I am short...). My husband Tapconned the feet to the concrete slab we have it on as well. Overall, this gazebo looks and seems sturdy, and it is a beautiful addition to our outdoor space! When I bought this item I forgot to read the reviews. Thinking. Oh this doesn’t look hard to put together. Then I saw people saying it took them 40+ hours or 2-5 days to put it together and things like that and I got worried. Let me tell you. Me and a friend started putting this thing together at 8am. And we finished at 8:30pm. So it can be done. Out of the entire thing. 2 bolts were stripped but they were more user error then anything. I think the instructions could be a little clearer as when getting to the roof there was some confusion on how some pieces went on or what direction they were. Also for the overall product I would say they need to add more spots to hang lights and such. I had to zip tie a lot of the lights above it. The mosquito net works great. The outer curtain is very weather resistant. The net and curtain could be a little tighter if I had to suggest anything since when a nice wind is up it pushes them inside the area or far out even when zipped. Overall very good product for the price, I gave it 4 stars just for the instructions being vague in some places. ... show more

This turned out to be better than I expected. It’s a well built product. I’d highly recommend, especially at this cost. The structure was extremely easy to assemble, the roof panels were a little tricky, so just be patient when installing the roof panels.

Words cannot express how happy I am with my new gazebo. This gazebo is made of sturdy materials, made to last. I had my neighbor install it only took him 2 days with one other person helping him. I highly recommend this gazebo as it is a fabulous product made of durable materials and so beautiful.

    • Looking forward to a back deck getaway!

I shopped carefully for a hardtop gazebo that would fit on my back deck. The eves of my rough are very low and most of the 10x10 gazebos are slightly too big to fit under it. I carefully shopped sizes down to the inch and this gazebo fits perfectly! I have not had it for long so I can[t speak to the durability of it. I also did not hang up any of the curtains yet, because it is still pretty cool where I am. I can say that people were telling the truth when they said it is a bear to put together. My sons and I,both in their 20s, worked on it in chunks of several hours over several days. The first day we tried putting in the roof panels there was A LOT of swearing, especially since they would slide off and fall of the deck. I went out and got double sided tape for the plastic sliders on the panels and that made the job A LOT easier. I just used cheap tape from the dollar store, and put two little pieces on each plastic piece. It was just enough to hold them in place, although it added a lot of extra time to the job. I am hoping, given the cost and the amount of time that it took to put this together, that it will last very a very long time! ... show more
