This collar works great inside. I only use the sound beeper and vibration mode. Only problem using it to stop bad habits outside is I have to watch my dog to catch her doing the bad habit before I am able to use the collar to correct issue.

I rarely use the shock portion of this, only if my dog starts chasing something & doesn't respond to the vibration - which is rare. It doesn't take long to train a dog to understand that verbal commands are easier & less startling to respond to! The collar fits well, is easy to put on & take off with the clasp. The cost is reasonable and the distance it works is perfect for me out in the country.

Electronic dog correction collars run the range from under $20 to over twenty times that amount. The question is, then, what exactly are your needs? There's no point in buying a $300 collar if you just need to remind your dog that your words can be backed up with a consequence for something like nuisance barking at your neighbor's cat or moving too close to your property line. Still, it's important to get a collar that offers some variety in stimulation because all dogs are different with regards to what they consider a correction. This collar offers tone, vibration and electric shock corrections. It charges quickly, is light weight for the dog, waterproof (the receiver) and also has a good range for most people's applications. Let's face it, not many people need over 6 football fields of reach to access their dog. The important thing when choosing to use one of these collars is to pair a verbal or signal cue that the dog KNOWS is coming from you, rather than to just start zapping your dog. There's a method that needs to be followed if you want to get the dog to understand that, if he doesn't listen to YOU, then you can give him a correction. Otherwise, you'll need to be supervising him and zapping him for far longer than necessary. Using the tone feature just prior to the vibration or shock is a good way to back up that concept. This collar allows you to do the method that is going to result in a well trained dog... But, you need to follow the program. If you do, this collar should be sufficient for most pet owner's needs to successfully use a correction based training method.

It works like it should and I only have to use it when we're outside because he loves to bark at deer and anything that goes by. He doesn't respond that well to the beep part, but he does to the vibration, although it takes a verbal command as well. I will never use shock on my 6-pound fur baby or any animal for that matter. It is made well with instructions that are clear to understand. The battery does last for a long time, but I find that it's a little large for my guy. I also lost the remote for a while, so we didn't get to use it. I feel that it's effective if you stay on top of it and react quickly to unwanted behavior.

I have been using this on our jack Russell, I don't ever have to use the shock part but the prongs are installed. Most of the time I just have to use the beep sound and he knows what comes next. I got it for training purposes, we are training him to no jump on people when they come over. So far it is working really well. The battery life seems to last longer than other collars we have used. i have noticed if we don't use it for a long period of time, like a few days it goes into like a sleep mode to save the battery life, so I usually have to turn it back on. We have only had to charge it once since we got it, and we have not yet had to charge the remote and it is still at 75% battery life.
