I purchased this surgical recovery suit for my 17 pound Pug/Maltese mix who is 9 years young. TLDR: Would purchase again and highly recommend. I strongly suggest getting two so that you have a backup for while one is being laundered. If you like details — here is more about our experience: Our little doggy had surgery to remove her spleen, perform a gastropexy, and a biopsy of her liver (she had a small splenic mass). Her incision was 6-8cm long on her abdomen, and recovery time is 10-14 days. That is a long time to wear a cone or an inflatable collar! We took the recovery suit to our vet the day of surgery, and they happily put it on her afterwards during post-op recovery/observation. They had no issues at all with it. It was simple, straightforward, and easy to put on. The suit has been a lifesaver! We feel it has had a calming effect on our dog. She seems to like having it on — like a security blanket. We practiced putting it on and taking it off prior to surgery to get her used to the garment. She wore it for a few hours each day for several days leading up to her procedure. It goes on easily and removes easily, even for a doggy who is recovering from major abdominal surgery! We have laundered it already, and it seems to be well-made. The fabric is soft and stretchy. It seems to be a comfortable fit (we are on day 5 today). The seams are solid and there doesn’t seem to be any pulling. Fits as indicated — we measured our girl and based on her measurements, she would need a Medium suit. It fits well. Snug in the right ways, but not too snug. Plenty of give in the fabric. I love the zipper for being able to get it over her head (on and off) more easily. Plus, as a dog with a scruffy coat, it helps to pull her hair less with a larger opening. Her incision has been kept clean and dry. There has been no issue with rubbing or chaffing on her legs, or her incision. She is not able to get the garment off herself, and she cannot get at her incision to lick or chew. Taking her outside to potty has been simple, too. We just unfasten the Velcro and refasten it in front of her back legs instead of around the back. No fussing to get it on/off. Very quick and easy. No messes and truly hassle-free. Very happy with our purchase!

we ordered this suit for my dog who just got spayed and it works really well! we ended up ordering a second to have just in case because she had an accident inside and it got a bit wet (totally not the suits problem though!) when we take her out, we just strap the velcrow to itself on her sides so she has more access to use the bathroom, then we restrap it when she comes in! the velcrow is really strong and sturdy, and the suit isnt too tight on her so it keeps her incision safe and doesnt rub up on it either. she seems to be comfortable in it once its on (though she struggles when we try to get it on initially) and the zipper doesnt catch her fur either if we’re careful. i was nervous with the price but it seems to be working well and she cant get out of it or get to her incision, she just tries to lick it from the outside so be careful for that as the suit could get wet from licking! shes a 7 month old scottish terrier, about 18lbs give or take and i got her a size medium! doesnt fit too tight and stays on nicely overall i would highly recommend this!

I tried 3 others brands after my dog's abdominal surgery for bladder stones; this was by far and away the best one! The other ones either had a "snap up" back (no way - my dog is too squirmy for that) or a full zipper (which was plastic, which broke almost immediately) or the last one she was actually able to WIGGLE OUT OF by rubbing her backside on the back of the chairs. Ugh! With this one, the zipper is only 6-8 inches long, allows me to get it over her head but it STAYS ON. Very comfortable (hell, I would wear it, it feels like PJ's!!) and she was unbothered by the velcro (like other suites that had nylon threads and heavy Velcro with sharp edges, they were obviously uncomfortable!) This one's velcro is softer and located further up the backside so as to not rub inside her legs (the location of the velcro is important, who knew?) and I didn't have to take it off of her AT ALL - so ....win/win. She had to wear it for a full 14 days but it certainly did the trick! She couldn't use the "cone of shame" because she couldn't use the doggie door with that thing on. After the first few days of opening the door for her, I was done with that useless thing, and it was so uncomfortable, she had trouble going up and down the steps. She's a miniature Schnauzer mix, about 17 lbs., so going up and down the raised deck stairs to the back yard with a cone on is not doable. This was finally the very best of all three brands I tried! and very washable, came out clean as a whistle. Good buy!

Worked great for my dog after her spay surgery. The cone was an absolute no way and the donut didn't work well and she looked pretty uncomfortable with it on. She didn't seem to have any interest in her incision site but the suit gave me peace of mind. Really soft and stretchy material. Was a bit smaller than anticipated based on the sizing guide. If it wasn't so stretchy it would have been a bit too small, Even though she is within the size range listed. Even though it was a bit small in the chest and length, the belly area was nice and loose which was great so the incision could heal properly.

I absolutely LOVE this surgery recovery suit and so did my pup! I ordered a size large and it fit my 35lbs golden doodle perfectly! It was a much better option that having my poor pup wear a cone! My pup had surgery on her stomach so the suit kept the area clean and covered! I have washed and dried it a few times now and it's washed wonderfully! You do have to make sure to Velcro the leg straps or the fabric will snag while washing. It was very easy to put on my pup which is definitely a plus! It is durable but you have to make sure the Velcro doesn't touch the fabric or it will cause snags in the fabric (this is my only tiny little issue with it). I think it was a great value and I'd definitely buy again! The suit is super functional and cute on my pup and even though her incision has healed I still put the suit on her! Highly recommend!

If you've been searching for a quality surgical suit for your dog, look no further. I purchased 2 suits from the "cheap China competition. " Yes, you get what you pay for. With that being said, I feel the price point for the quality & workmanship is a great value. I ordered a medium for my 16" long, 13" diameter neck Cavachon, who weighs 13.9 lbs. This garment fits perfectly. The material is a little stretchy and so soft. I love the zipper instead of the stiff velcro closure on the back. If I had to be picky I would suggest using white velcro instead of black (since the surgical suit is pink/white) for opening/securing at the tail end. I would definitely purchase this item again.

This dog onesie has decent stretch, the Velcro near the back legs can fastened tighter or looser depending on the length of your puppy, there is a zipper near the neck/chest so there's extra room there, adjustability for neck tightness. It's thinner, which is also good as dogs can't sweat. This onesie prevented the puppy from licking her stomach all day when she had a rash, allowing it to heal. She could still use the bathroom as it leaves that area open. Also, you can just un-do the Velcro fasteners near the back legs and wrap it under to ensure it's clear but that isn't necessary. Over-all, very happy with how this worked out. Better option than the cone. My only picky complaint is the color options, generally not a fan of pastels or "baby" colors for dog clothing. But it washed well, easy to put on the dog, and didn't impair mobility or toileting.
