I own an Andis professional clipper that cost about $175, but it's heavy, noisy, has a cord - plus it gets super hot, quickly. When I saw the price ($23.99) of this cordless clipper, I figured the cost was so low, I'd give them a try. It works great! First of all, be sure you oil the clipper prior to use - if you don't have clipper oil, you could substitute vegetable oil, in a pinch. Just a note, WD-40 is too heavy to use as clipper oil. If the clippers stop removing the dog's hair, clean the hair out of the razor and oil again. After charging (my light stayed red, but didn't effect the charge), I oiled the clipper and started to work on my somewhat matted cavapoo following cast removal after a broken leg. These clippers are so quiet, even my skittish dog didn't seem to mind and the clippers allowed me to work quickly. For me, the biggest plus was the clippers never got hot - they're plastic and very lightweight. I've only used the clippers once, but at this low price it's much cheaper than taking my dog to a groomer. I highly recommend these clippers! ... show more

I’ve used many clippers in the past that never lasted and didn’t cut the thick hair easily. These are hands down the BEST I’ve EVER tried. Zoom right through his thick hair. Covid-19 has done a number on our economy and many businesses have closed due to the government mandates. Pet groomers are considered non-essential and have closed. My husband and I decided to groom our 15 lb long haired dachshund. Like with most dachshunds, Harley was skittish when it came time to go to the groomers. I wanted to make the grooming session as easy on Harley as well as for my husband and I. I bought this particular clippers due to the great reviews. The clippers were very easy to use and did a wonderful job on Harley. He sat still the entire time we used the clippers on him. We have 2 Bichons weighing 15 & 17 lbs. Every 6 weeks for YEARS we paid $90 to have them cut at the groomer. We bathed them ourselves. We kept thinking we should try it ourselves but we never did. We had bought a pet dremel for their nails & never used it. So during this pandemic they were really getting shaggy & we had no choice but to try grooming them ourselves. We bought the clippers & a grooming table. We felt emboldened by reading the reviews & watched a YouTube video. It was so easy! We wished we had done it years ago!!! I bought these to replace My Wahl clippers I dropped and broke. These are easy to handle, fairly quiet, and they do shave well. I gave two stars for that. What I don't like is there's no way to tell when it's fully charged, the battery didn't last long enough to shave both Shih tzu's of mine, So I'm typing this as I'm waiting for it to charge, but I won't know when it's fully charged because there's no indicator to tell you. There's a light that stays on while it's charging and it stays on as long as it's plugged in. I also didn't like the blade guards, I tried using them and they get tangled & catch the hair and made it impossible to shave them, so I took it off and just shaved them down without being able to use the guard. Their hair wasn't even that long to begin with, and I didn't have this problem with the last set I had. So if you have one small dog, and don't mind shaving it to the skin, these are for you ... show more

This pet shaver is the best I have bought, gets the job done. My dog has always been really nervous with other shavers to the point where it's almost impossible to get done because of the noise. But this trimmer is amazing! My dog was not even scared when I turned on the trimmer. It's that quiet. My dog was very calm during the whole entire trimming. The Blades worked fantastic on his thick hair, like a hot knife through butter. I've used many trimmers over the course of 10 years and I must say, this probably the best one I've own. Ok I’m an amateur when it comes to dog grooming. I wanted something easy to use and when I got done my dog didn’t look like patches. I have an Australian Shepard/ Labrador, she is an inside dog and really clean so she was easy and patient only a year old. But she did excellent, pros and cons of this product after first use. Excellent on maneuvering, cutting did great it took me awhile but I got her done, don’t expect to get done quick with this product it took me awhile. It cut good but the battery life is 50/50 about halfway thru cutting she got low after sitting all night on the charger. It would say with mine 1/3 it lasted on the body recharged it went another 1/3 and so forth, But she is a big dog. Overall I would buy it again I’m no dog groomer and only need to have it done every now and then $26 vs $40-50 at the dog groomer it was worth it. I have it 4 stars because of the battery life but 5 stars overall on the product I didn’t want anything fancy just enough to get the job done. ... show more

I'm not sure if some of these other reviews were paid, or maybe reviewing a different product, or maybe these clippers just aren't suitable for thick-haired dogs (even though its says in the description it's for thick-haired dogs). When I finally tested it out on my thick wooly-haired dog, it worked terribly. Using one of the plastic guards, ,the cut was inconsistent and it barely cut any hair off. It may have pulled a bit too as my dog whined throughout my test cut on her leg. When I tested the bare blade on a furry rug, without a guard, it seems to fare a little bit better. This MIGHT be good for shaving small areas but I can't even groom one leg with these weak clippers. Unfortunately it is beyond my return window but this was a waste of money. ... show more
