We have been through at least four dog door flaps. Each time the semi-opaque material has fractured in frigid temperatures and then cracked through. But this flap I have high hopes for!! The material feels sturdier. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it being opaque and white, but I don’t think the dogs have an issue with it. It fits the inner dimension better than any flap I have used previously. Recommended.

I like this unit more than the original part. My big girl is a chewer and has eaten the bottom 20% of the original flap and two replacement units. This one works so smooth she just uses it as expected. It's several weeks and it's "as new". Thanks. The materials are not tasty evidently, but they function fine.

The 5 year old flap on my PetSafe storm door cracked after being exposed to several sub-freezing days and nights. I purchased this flap to replace it. The flap fits the space nicely. It is opaque and a little thicker than the original flap. However, the screws that came with the flap are wood screws that are much too long and have rounded heads and sharp pointed ends. The original screws are flat-headed, short enough that they did not protrude beyond the flap frame and have blunt ends. This is important because there is a hard case that goes over the flap that keeps cold air out when the pet door is not in use, and the round-headed screws make it unusable. Also, this flap did not have a metal bar at the top that holds the screws in place. I was able to detach the one that was on the old flap and use it with the new flap. Bottom line here is be sure to keep your old hardware and use it when replacing the flap if you have a PetSafe brand pet door.

Just installed the door four days ago the screws are almost the same size as the openings with the grommets. The idea is a great concept, but within a couple days, the screws pushed through with the opening and closing of the flap this morning when I woke up, five of the six holes were off, it was hanging by one thread, and the door was chewed in the corner by the dogs because it was at a place where it could. I wouldn’t waste your money on this unless you wanna add washers to protect those grommets from pushing through.

I got an off-brand dog door a little over a year ago, and this flap's measurements made it look like it would fit the opening of my dog door. Alas, the bar across the bottom (where the brush sits) is too wide for my door, so I am unable to use it. If, however, I had the PetSafe brand dog door, I am sure that this would have worked perfectly. The flap itself is really well made and durable, so I wish I could have used it.
