It's bigger than my other one I have in my screen door that's a medium also. My dog weighs only 9lbs so I think the flaps are a little heavy for her since there are two so I removed the inside flap so she would use it.

This will be your last pet door opener. You should ever have to buy. The framework is stout, metal and everything about it is quality We got this for our future corgi puppy so we haven’t melted this one yet but has a construction guy. I can tell you that it looks very nice and seals very well so far from playing with it and I expect us to keep the weather out. I just don’t want my future dog to get pets as in raccoons and bring them to play. I just watched a video of a German Shepherd, bringing in a young deer, followed by another medium dog coming into play in the house. We will probably do a small area on our back area so that the dog can go out do its number and come back in without any other uninvited guest It’s always nice to be able to lock this and we are very pleased with the appearance again as it looks professional and not cheap I can highly recommend that you purchase this item and I hope this helps a little in your decision. You may have to use some type of treat method or special smells or food bowl to entice your pet to realize I know it’s on the other side of the door. I just gotta push my nose and move it to get in. Be patient with them. Try not to scold them and give them lots of love Because they have feelings just like you or I do no matter what others might say. I am a lifelong pet lover from everything from insects to reptiles to dogs and cats, goats. I have a lot of chickens and know that our last 15 year-old corgis gone I’m looking for another puppy, and this will be my last one. He deserves the best as it should not be a struggle for them to go in and out when they need to use the bathroom although our last dog just had to sit at the door or Bark once and we knew exactly what he wanted. One Bark Bark time Bark time was so mellow like me that it was just amazing. People actually say all my pets end up mellow. hahaha And we don’t do drugs, so it’s not the atmosphere as far as smoke goes

The dog door has been fantastic for my dog, it allows her to come and go freely while keeping the house secure. Installation was easy and it for really good. Definitely worth the price.

My husband is handy so this was easy to install. However, most people probably need a handyman because you need to cut a hole in your house. That said, this is a good door. We had a sliding door version that was letting too much air out. We switched to this and it's much better. Our dog is still getting used to it. It closes well so it requires her to push a bit but it's not hard. It locks well and feels secure at night. It's silver and we have gray walls so it doesn't look bad. She is a 33lbs skinny Beagle. She fits but I'm not sure a 45lbs dog would fit.

I do not understand the poor reviews on this dog door. I have installed quite a few of these over the last 40 years and there is nothing I can complain about on this dog door. The quality is really good it’s all aluminum in construction with double flaps. I got the medium size and my 75 pound Doberman gets through it fine but he is a lean dog. If he was a fatty maybe I would need a large size. This door is half the price of the similar ones sold at pets co smart and I think it’s better because theirs is made of plastic and this on is all metal and costs less.

This Doggy Door for Wall installations is well constructed and works great. I have two doggy doors already installed and installed it where I had one that was made of plastic which was starting to deform from the heat of the mountain desert where I live. You can paint to your desired color to blend into your décor as needed.
