First of all, the entire box was incredibly heavy. That's when I knew this was going to be a a solid piece of furniture. Yes, it's particle board. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's well-compressed particle board, which makes it struday. If it was solid wood, it would cost well over $1,000. For the price, this furniture is excellent. The assembly process is a little daunting. There is sooooo much hardware and it's a 20-step process. But if you take it one step at a time, it's fairly easy. And the instructions are excellent. Plus, they gave me more hardware than I needed, which doesn't always happen. I always seem to lose a screw or two and it's nice to know there will be an extra if needed. It looks great once it's assembled and my dog took to it immediately. The bars on the grates are metal so I don't see how a dog would chew out of this. If you have the kind of dog that would, you need a fully metal cage. I recommend this so much, I just bought a second one for our lower level (the first one is in our bedroom so we can have some peace and quiet and so our second, less unruly dog has some peace and quiet, too). Very, very happy with this purchase.

This is a pretty heavy item so it's not shocking that UPS doesn't handle with care. Dealing with returns on this type of item are a hassle so I just dealt with it. It was easy to put together, instructions were easy to follow. Took about 45 min by myself. It seems sturdy enough and looks good but the lock and door don't seem like they would hold up if my dog really wanted to get out.

I’ve been looking for the perfect crate for my ever-growing golden retriever pup. I wanted something that would (1) be really spacious (he has great crate manners and I wanted him to have room to move around), (2) look good in the living room, (3) be a piece of furniture that could be used as an end table/living room table as opposed to a wire metal crate, (4) have a sliding door on a track so that the crate can always be open but not risk running into the crate door all the time, and (5) not be $400+. I’ve been looking for months and nothing has checked all 5 of my boxes- until I found this crate! It took about an hour and a half to put together but the instructions were very clear and easy. I love that the manufacturer included extra hardware for every step— it makes me nervous when they only include the exact amount!! The box was so heavy I had to disassemble it on my front porch! I knew it was going to be a solid crate. But, I would say this crate is NOT solid enough if you have an escape artist or an extremely anxious dog (get an indestructible crate), but for the average pup this is perfect. I’m very happy with it, and I think Güs is too!

This is made of particle board and not at all the sturdy heavy duty cage I imagined for more than $200. It is spacious and the water/food bowl is a nice convenience BUT worried none of that will matter if my dog can just tear it up. The box was also damaged by some type of puncture which damaged the main upper board but I'm hopeful it will not be an issue because damage was minimal BUT one does expect an undamaged product that doesn't require endless emails and waiting.

My 4.5 month old puppy is already 20” tall and outgrew the crate she has been in. She is a setter/lab mix and it is hard to tell how big she will be full grown. Estimates are around 70 pounds and 27”-29” tall. I ordered this because it was taller than others (and there was a $65 coupon). I had never seen furniture crates before and I fell in love at first sight! Thankfully my dog does not spend much time in a crate, but it is a necessity for the first two years of having a puppy. FYI- This did not come with a mat inside and the inside is long but skinny so a large dog bed or mat might not fit without measuring. It took me about 2 hours to assemble alone- when holes don’t line up, it is usually human error… The instructions are picture only and everything is clearly labeled. Phillips head screwdriver was the only thing needed. My Amazon account did not notify me when this was shipped or arriving (gave a date range) and the box was very big and heavy to get inside. The latch to hold the sliding door closed is not heavy duty- in a pinch a small zip tie might help. This is designed for a large, pretty well-behaved dog- not for an aggressive chewer trying to get out.

Nice crate easy to put together. Is on the smaller side if you have large dogs. I'd say nothing over 70lbs just for size. Latch does not seem secure but we'll see I have an escapeee type dog.
