I swapped this out on my wife's 2001 Buick Le Sabre. It had 215,000 miles and after reading up on the life span of these, her original alternator was due to be replaced as it was no longer charging. I bought the on line purchase and after putting it in, I took the old one to Advance Auto and gave it to them so they could turn it in as a re-man unit. I did not get anything for it, but it was better than throwing it away. This unit is working great and I no longer worry about my wife getting hung up somewhere with a dead battery. As it turned out, the same part went bad in my 2001 Tahoe and I did the same on that car with the same positive results. Since the have only been in the cars for a month or so, I cannot vouch for the durability. Thus only 4 stars. BTW, if you have never swapped one out, look at some videos. All of the alts. that are sent out are tested as per the included spec. / test-run sheet. This item performs just as well as the original, hopefully it will last just as long. Took off one star (would have preferred half a star) because the installation holes didn't quite line up on our 2004 Buick LeSabre. However, with some extra effort and time, my husband was able to make it work. It's only been a few days but it's working great. So glad all the sensors have stopped going off! ... show more

This bolted right up on the old 2000 Buick La Sabre. With only 46k original miles on the car, it isn't ready for the scrap heap. I got this because the original alternator wasn't keeping the battery charged. No issues so far.
