Better thenb a plastic cone by 100%. However if left for too long in a cage, a large breed dog may rip apart... happened to us a few times. But very comfortable for our dogs post op.

I purchased this hoping it would be comfortable for my fur baby but it made it difficult for her to lay her head down and rest after her surgery. You for sure had to place on with a collar and it took a bit longer for her to somehow get it off. It did make it easier for her to walk up the stairs as the big plastic cones scraped up each step. It also deflates and folds up nicely for easy storage. I donated it as it did not serve its purpose. ... show more

Extremely hard to inflate & have to keep blowing up. The plug you blow into is very hard to blow into. Main thing is, It won't stay inflated has a slow leak. I have to inflate it again some more every couple days starts to deflate right away, losing air all the time. Did get another one that one did the same thing but to be worse that the 1st one losing air. The air in it should lasted longer than a couple days. Not worth to take a chance using this not knowing for sure if going to stay inflated enough through the night making sure a sweetie is not able to get to the stitches from his surgery. If I could give this product 0 stars, I would. Very unhappy with this product ... show more

My dog seems to like much better then the cone of shame! I like that I can pull the cover off easily and toss it in the washing machine. It was easy to inflate and stayed blown up for over 7 days of recovery.

This is definitely more comfortable than the plastic ecollar from the vet. I also think it's safer for not getting caught on things. It was very easy to put on. For anyone looking for size comps: He's a 50lb golden retriever, on the smaller side for his breed, and the XL fit perfectly. I think L would have been too small for sure. Unfortunately, even though XL fit his collar, it didn't actually stop him from licking. So I guess the only downside is...well, it had one job and it didn't do it. Our dog was still able to lick his incision after being neutered. If your dog is less flexible, determined, etc. it might work well. ... show more
