This leash and collar bundle is an interesting pairing. The leash is made from a strong, thick twisted or braided rope, which in turn is made of a soft textured, very slightly spongee, very slightly stretchy, and quite flexible material. The handle grip is formed by looping the rope and securing it with a sturdy fastener. This grip is padded by a tube shaped covering comprised of a soft, spongee, squeezable, and very comfortable, foam or foam-like material. The latch, or clip, is made of reasonably thick metal, and seems to be quite strong and durable. It opens and closes in a carabiner style, and can be locked closed by means of a metal sliding piece. While this does help a bit more for the latch staying closed, it also is not as strong of a locking mechanism as it could be. A medium force head shake by the dog is likely enough force to shake the lock loose. I say this because it easily slides away when I barely apply pressure to move the lock piece directly by hand. But even so, the latch shouldn't open or close on it's own, anyway. The latch spring mechanism is strong enough to prevent that when the leash is used for it's intended purpose, and under normal circumstance. However, it could still be opened in the event that the dog ever somehow manages to lean against an object, thus creating enough direct force or pressure in just the right way. Therefore, the added security of a better lock mechanism would have been much better for this product's quality level. Overall, though, I would still place the quality of this leash at a high level of 4 stars. In contrast, the dog collar is made of a somewhat thin canvas fabric, measured and sewn into somewhat of a thin strip that comprises the length of the collar. While it does not seem to be an excessively weak canvas fabric, it also doesn't seem to be a heavy duty or remarkably durable canvas fabric. I would estimate the strength and durability, and the quality, of this canvas to be of a medium level. The tag ring is made of metal. Flat and thin, it is strong enough for the intended task. The buckle is made of a type of plastic. While not overly thin or flimsy, it also is not giving me the impression of being highly durable. I would estimate the strength of this buckle to be medium. The leash ring is made of metal, and is part of a section of chain that makes up about 25% of the collar circumference, depending on the neck size of the dog. This chain is fairly thick but not overly thick. It does look to be fairly strong, although users will need to be mindful of dog size, strength, pulling habits, and the collar's max force limit. I would estimate the quality of this chain to be high, but not extremely high. Overall, with all things considered and combined, I would estimate the quality of this leash and collar bundle to be medium-high. 4 out of 5 stars.

This is a very good set but honestly, the leash is my favorite! It's the most comfortable leash I've ever owned. The padded handle has a very comfortable grip to it. It was all easy to use, a perfect fit, I like the bright red color. This is worth purchasing!

This leash and collar bundle offers an intriguing combination of features. Let's start with the leash—it's crafted from a strong, thick twisted or braided rope that's made of a soft, slightly sponge-like, and flexible material. The handle grip is cleverly designed with a padded tube-shaped covering, providing a comfortable and secure grip. The metal latch, although reasonably thick and durable, could benefit from a stronger locking mechanism. While it's secure under normal use, a strong force from the dog could potentially disengage the latch. Moving on to the collar, it's made of a thin canvas fabric that appears to be of medium durability. The metal tag ring and leash ring are adequately strong for their purposes. However, the plastic buckle, while not flimsy, doesn't inspire confidence in long-term durability. Overall, I'd rate this leash and collar bundle as medium-high quality. The leash offers a comfortable and sturdy grip, though the latch could be more secure. The collar is decent for everyday use but might not withstand heavy pulling or rough play. Considering everything, I'd give this set 4 out of 5 stars. It's a good option for daily walks and basic training, but may not be suitable for very strong or active dogs.

Got this collar and leash for my poodle mix. On the first wear it made him squeal out if pain. Tried it again and it did the same thing. I thought it may have been accidentally catching his ear hair. Kept using it and he seemed to adjust. Took it off after about 1 week of wear because I noticed his hair was pulled off his neck and he had skin irritation. I found the metal part of the chain had sharp notches that were pulling of his hair and giving him the skin irritation. The chain was also discolored. The metal is not high quality and has hurt my dog. Definitely don’t buy!

I am the guardian of an 18 month old German Shorthaired Pointer. Walking him is like trying to control a speeding train from the side of the tracks. The minute I put a leash on him, his nose takes over and all his training goes out the window. I have tried every possible kind of collar, leash, harness and other contraption, and a martingale collar is the best we can do. Finding one that actually fits him, though, is tough! Enter the Duckygoo collar… Right out of the package, I could tell this set was quality. The collar has some weight to it. I LOVE that it has a buckle - I’ve never seen that on a martingale before, and for the first time, we can get a GOOD fit on my pup. And now we can actually go for a manageable walk because the collar gets tight enough to bother the dog, without hurting his sensitive throat. The leash, though, is even better. Firstly, the latch on it is fantastic, with a screw cap to prevent accidental release. The leash is almost weightless, which leaves me with more muscle to deal with my dog. And, the handle is the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. If it almost a foam, incredibly comfortable to hold on to, and yet still grippy. I can’t recommend this set enough - it’s the absolute best!
