  • Really nice, compact dock
Color: Black
I got sick of carrying around the giant Switch dock when visiting friends' houses, so I ordered this to have a more compact option and I have been largely satisfied with the dock. It's compact and fits well in a pocket, though you do need to remember the power cord, which takes up just as much, if not more space, so you end up needing more space than you might think to get a functioning system. I like that it has a door to protect the USB-C port when not in use, but the door is fairly flimsy and since the dock is so small, it is a little scary to use unless you have someplace you're sure it's not going to fall from. I've only tried it with the original Switch (I don't have another model), but everything worked perfectly and I didn't notice any sort of input lag. The light on the front is bright and doesn't seem to offer any sort of confirmation of connectivity. It would be nice if it turned off after a minute, but I don't hate the bright colors. Adds a bit of "pop" to a room. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this dock and will be using it whenever I travel! ... show more

  • Works, but not with a protective case
Color: Red
This is a great idea for a docking station for the Nintendo switch. I think it works great. It didn't come with any of the cords or cables needed to attach it to the television. At first I could not get it to work, and I wasn't sure why, but then I took the protective case off of it and it worked perfectly. I think that the area where the switch sits and the plug is inserted is not wide enough to support the use of the protective case. I don't really like that as I like to have the case on the switch to keep it safe when my young kids are playing on it and it isn't connected to the television. Other than that though I really think it is a good product and saves so much space. But if you do not already have the cables, you will need to get those. ... show more

  • Very portable, colors match very well
Color: Blue
Things I like: - A lid closes over the dock part to protect it when placed in a bag or backpack - The button on the back lets you switch from "dock" mode where video is output to the TV, or tabletop mode where the video goes to the switch screen. The OEM adapters do not give you this option to charge the console while playing in tabletop mode. This feature alone is a deal maker. Things I didn't like: - doesn't come with a power supply (but for the price it's hard to expect it should) - it's easy to misalign USB plug and scratch up the bottom of the Switch - The LEDs around the base are pointless and distracting - I just need a light to show the Switch is powered on and maybe one to indicate whether the video switch is set to tabletop of dock mode. Very highly recommend this dock. Great price, great features. ... show more

  • Mixed Bag: Decent Functionality with Some Flaws
Color: Black
After spending some time with the BOXPSII Docking Station for Nintendo Switch, I've found it to be a mixed bag, earning it a three-star rating. Pros: Functionality: The docking station offers decent functionality, providing essential features like a 4K HDMI port, USB 3.0, and USB-C port. These ports allow for seamless connectivity to external displays and accessories, enhancing the gaming experience. Compatibility: It's compatible with both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch OLED, which is a definite plus for users with different versions of the console. It's also compatible with the official Nintendo Switch dock, ensuring a hassle-free transition for existing setups. Cons: Build Quality: One of the major drawbacks is the build quality. While the docking station looks sleek in black, it feels somewhat flimsy and lightweight. This raises concerns about its long-term durability and stability, especially when inserting or removing the Switch. Heat Management: During prolonged use, I noticed that the docking station tends to get warm, especially around the USB-C port area. While it didn't affect performance during my testing, it's something to be mindful of, as excessive heat could potentially impact the Switch's performance over time. Overall, the BOXPSII Docking Station offers decent functionality and compatibility with the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch OLED. However, its subpar build quality and potential heat management issues prevent me from giving it a higher rating. If you're in need of a budget-friendly docking station with basic features, this could suffice, but those seeking premium build quality might want to explore other options. ... show more

  • Should have come with this out the gate
Color: Black
Place the Switch in the docking station and press a button in the back to change between the built in screen and your TV. Two USB slots on the sides and a third in the back for wired controllers. Takes up a fraction of the real estate on your counter or in a bag traveling. Could use a little lip or something in the front to make it more sturdy, in the menu screens it can be touchy what the system is doing, going in between screens or shutting down. Have had no problems in game though. Also would be nice to be able to turn off the LED in front. I've been using a stand all these years now. I run a wire through the bottom for charging. It can fall off easily or the stand frequently collapses. The kickstand built in the system is mostly worthless and is broken now anyways. ... show more

  • Great little travel docking hub
Color: Black
Great little travel docking hub. Looks good and seems well made. All advertised functions work great. Tv to console and back button is good. Power from usb a works. Had an issue with using it pairing a controller from the usb a on the side. Documentation says the rear usb is usb 3.0 compliant but never made it to that so can not verify. Overall this is a nice travel docking station. My 2 reservations are, 1 the side usb did not pair controller, 2 it is small, so when you have console in dock and you press the power button, far left hand side, is is narrow and it has to tilt till console hits surface to press. Other that those 2 minor things it is a great small travel dock. ... show more
