We ordered the queen sized frame with the double cabinets. This was over 400lbs of hardware. Beware you CANNOT return without using the same boxes aa shipping. Assembly took between 2 and 4 people at all times for a total of more than 12 hours. Some pieces were not pre-drilled correctly which forced us to undo several parts and rework items to have them fit correctly. This was especially true for the metal L brackets that hold the bed frame in place with the hydraulic lifts. The tension on the lifts is so high that it will pull the entire unit forward and flip it from the wall. The manufacturer suggests 8 wall anchors to hold the unit in place. That is an absurd suggestion for safety reasons. Because we actually intend to use the unit we opted to buy 2- 70” metal straps that span the hole of the bed, screwed those into the frame, and then used 6- 5/16x3” lag bolts to screw into the studs in the wall. These reinforcements were all but essential if anyone wants to realistically sleep in this piece. The cabinets doors and hinges are often too tight to have the power of the magnets hold the doors shut, several modifications had to be made to have them close correctly. All in all, it functions well once it is assembled, but assembly is cumbersome and should not be attempted by anyone who is not mechanically inclined or void of an engineering degree. ... show more

It is impossible to summarize briefly the negative experience we had with this product. A disaster in every possible category from quality, to customer service, to assembly, to its overall function. This is about the cheapest product available online, but the savings weren't worth the headache. Were I to do it again, I would spend more on a product from a different supplier. I will list in detail my issues with this product in an effort to prevent others from making a similar mistake. Our first bed arrived with broken pieces. After a month waiting on shipping, this was returned and we received a replacement. The replacement bed was missing the instruction manual. There are hundreds of parts and assembly without the instructions is impossible. The seller is some forsaken factory overseas without a customer service department. I wasted too much time trying to obtain a digital copy through Amazon customer service which proved to be impossible. Our only option was to wait another month to have yet a third replacement bed sent. After finally receiving a bed that was intact with the necessary instructions I began the assembly process. The components are low quality MDF that are cheaply machined and required great effort to fit together. Once together, little was square. The doors didn't shut properly due to poor functioning hinges that I had to buy replacements for at a local hardware store. The mattress doesn't stay in place when closed and I had to build additional supports to allow it to open and close properly. The wall anchors are inadequate and I had to construct additional supports to ensure it was safely anchored to the studs. The shelf outlets are a nice idea, but unless you have outlets in the right location behind the shelving units they may be unusable. Take your money elsewhere. We tried to put this together and found it to be EXTREMELY frustrating! Instructions are only pictures. Hard to tell right side from wrong. We ended up having to call custom cabinet maker to put together. They told us it is very cheaply made :( Delivery date was changed 3 different times! Doors do not match up. The hinges are NOT adjustable. One door is warped and doesn't close properly. Besides the cost we now have to pay the men who did put it together. I would pass on this Murphy bed. ... show more

    • 2 days, heavy boxes & sticky tacky plastic like paint issues
If you have 2 days to put this together it is good. Very heavy comes in 4 boxes. No white paint for screwed in hardware & brass/gold looks odd compared to silver handles and really stands out. Must be bolted into wall studs. Painted sections are not the same quality paints between panels it is different & sticky to collect dust horribly especially the front horizontal shelf support. For the money I hoped quality would be much better for the price paid. Spend the extra money & have one custom made for not that much more money & better workmanship is what I'd do again. Queen size isn't what we wanted for our guest bedroom but all we could get shipped to us online ... show more

Not sure where to begin…… I am both happy & unhappy about this purchase. Assembly- an absolute BEAST!!! It took us several days to assemble & we ended up hiring someone to attach it to the studs on our wall. The directions were absolutely terrible, several times we had to redo the work. The magnetic attachments on the cabinets- horrible! We still need to adjust one. One of the pieces arrived damaged & they gave me a credit for it. The positives are- once completed it’s very nice looking, has ample storage, and the plugs/usb ports are awesome. ... show more
