I don't do much cross-stitch or similar crafts, but when I do, I generally buy DMC. This is a great variety pack for the person in your life who does that type of crafting. I was excited to get 100 skeins but I don’t think I’ll be using more than half of the colors. Many of them are odd colors that they put together in the variation pattern. I would’ve been better to find 50 colors that I knew I really liked and that I would be using.

This is a great starter kit for those who want a basic embroidery thread kit. It comes with a huge variety of colors.

It’s more like 60-ish skeins. What a waste of money. Also, the metallic thread is the most infuriating thread you will ever use. They are completely useless and fray instantly.

This is a nice assortment of specialty flosses that would usually cost more money in the store. It's a nice variety of cotton threads and some other materials I haven't tried before. It is just packaged in a plastic sack so it's not really "giftable" but it would be an appreciated gift for any embroidery lover. My bundle was unfortunately one skein short so I only got 99.

I am SO thrilled with these threads! They are genuine DMC, in such a great variety of thread types & colors. There are satin skeins, variegated, metallic, glow in the dark, so many colors, it's just an endless array of pretty threads! I counted each one & received exactly 100. Considering the cost per skein, it's such a great deal. The quality is superb, as I always find to be the case with DMC thread. The metallic threads are a little fussier than others to work with, but I think that's the nature of metallic thread. I didn't find it to be unbearable by any means, & will continue to use them because the sparkle is just amazing. I am so impressed by the variety of colors & options included in this, I feel like it filled a gap in my thread collection of some of these unique colors & varieties.

So these are not the same color DMC as the ones you would by from Joann's but if you are not following a pattern at requires certain colors these threads are pretty decent to work with. Great for starters as well The colors are very vibrant and shiny which I like Overall I'd say this is a good pack to buy
