  • Love it when a product exceeds your expectation.
Size: Height 96" Color: Metal Ladder
This review is for the steel ladder not the wooden ladder. I was very skeptical of this product due to the negative reviews of the wooden ladder and the fact that it's manufactured in China. I decided to take a chance anyway. My concern was unwarranted. It's very well built of nicely finished stainless steel, all parts are accurately machined and all 22 threaded taps smoothly accepted the screws. The locking wheels swivel as well as roll and that's not a good thing. But a little epoxy solved that. ... show more

  • Good Affordable Option
I installed the metal version of this ladder nearly 2.5 years ago at the end of a Covid-era kitchen remodel. I wanted a rolling ladder to reach extra high cabinets. The only other option I found was a high end and very expensive ladder from Germany. I figured I could make this work "good enough". In order to make the ladder detachable from the rails, I removed the "pegs" beneath the upper rollers. It's still secure resting on just the rollers. I also had to have a local metal shop cut the ladder rungs narrower to fit my application, which added to the overall cost of course. The bottom wheels were a complete disaster and for a while I thought I might not be able to use the ladder at all because of them. The problem was that they spin. I guess the idea was that they should spin in order to track the movement of the ladder. In practice, at least for me, they always spun perpendicular to the path of travel and then just dragged across the floor. Fortunately, they come with a nut welded inside the ladder tube. I was able to unbolt the original wheel and replace it with a simple locking stationary 2" wheel I picked up at a box store. The new wheel required a fair bit of modifying to install but wasn't terribly difficult. Once I had the ladder installed and rolling on the new wheels I noticed it flexed quite a bit. I decided to stiffen it by taking the ladder back to the local metal shop and having them weld the rungs to the side tubes. This was a mistake. The flexing in the ladder allowed it to “conform” to the slight unevenness in the floor, which isn’t exactly parallel to the rails mounted on the cabinets. Now when you roll the ladder one side will come off the rails and the ladder will get “stuck”. The only way to roll the ladder smoothly along the rails is to lift the wheels off the floor and then roll it. Overall I’m happy with the ladder, even if we don’t use it as much as I thought we would. It’s easier to just grab a step stool unless you need to get far back into the cabinet or take a lot of stuff out of it. ... show more

  • Missing a critical part
Size: Height 96" Color: Metal Ladder
It looks good, but is wobble due to a missing screw that holds the shunk. See the picture. I am not comfortable climbing it because it is not secure at the top. See the picture.
