  • Great for small cats
I volunteer for a non-profit animal rescue and we use these for kittens that have been adopted and are going to their new homes. These are nice because we don't have to worry about people bringing back our regular carriers or crates. However, they don't work with large cats, aggressive cats, or cats that don't like to be constrained. ... show more

  • Sturdy, right size, reusable
These arrived in great condition. Easy to fold down to use. Right size for a kitten which was why we bought it. Nice ventilation holes. Could easily be reused for multiple trips to vet etc as it has sturdy construction.

  • Good Deal, but...
Update: This carrier does have its limits. When I recently tried it for a 16 lb cat, the handle ripped off as soon as I picked it up. With that in mind, I think I would be careful using it for any transport for my other bigger cats. Of course, you can't expect a cardboard box to carry an unlimited amount of weight. Previous review: I was pleasantly surprised with these cardboard carriers. Thought I might be taking a risk ordering them since I have some big cats, but they're roomier than I expected. One of my 14-lb cats is napping in one of the carriers right now. None of my cats (14/15 lbs) had any trouble turning around in the box. Obviously, cardboard is not for long trips and I have no doubt that my cats could start in one of the air holes and rip the box to shreds in short order, but for short trips to the vet or to get a cat out of the house and someplace secure in an emergency they'd be great. I can think of some none-cat/animal uses for the boxes, too. One warning: Don't try to lift a box with a cat in it unless the top is fully secured. I tried it without securing the side flaps and ripped the handle. But once I attached the side flaps, even with the rip in the handle, I easily picked up my 15-lb cat. It was actually much more comfortable carrying than a traditional carrier. ... show more

  • Easy instructions
Easy instructions written on each box but the boxes did not help with the kittens and 2 momma cats we had to get fixed. The size was great but there not durable at all.

  • Perfect for transporting fowl
Works perfect to transport chickens, and other small/medium fowl type birds to their new homes.

  • Great for a quick trip NOT ideal for long-term use!
I get these for a local no kill pet rescue in my area for when cats & the like go home. They work great for a quick ride home. I always tell people to hold it from the bottom as I've seen similar boxes (but not these) have the bottom fall out, especially when there's a larger animal in them. Many people seem to have a problem with putting them together but it's pretty easy IMO if you read & follow the directions on the box's themselves. I always tell new pet adopters to get a true carrier ASAP & not to depend on these long-term. ... show more

  • Not for adult cats or strays
So I bought these boxes because I had a cat I was fostering that had kittens and I needed to get them to the vet unfortunately these cats are 5 months old and it wasn't hard to get them in the box but keeping them in the box was a big problem. they tore the boxes apart, they were able to bite through or somehow destroy the box. so unless it is a kitten or some kind of animal that cannot scratch bite or defend themselves against being put into a box then buy plastic. ... show more

  • Great for Emergencies
I purchased these in 2020 and they have sat in the box for a year. I live in the Gulf Coast and wanted something that would be easy to assemble in case of emergencies (such as Hurricane evacuation). I got the unfortunate opportunity to use them this past weekend with Hurricane Nicholas. Pros: Quick to put together I was able to put together 9 of these and get 9 cats in record time. (less than 20 min) Cons: If the cat wants out, they will get out. These are great for kittens and cats who go into carriers easily and are not ruffled by them. However, if the cats is scared or hates carriers, they WILL get out. I had one of my cats burst through the side within 5 min of getting him into the carrier. Suggestion: If you buy these, DO NOT TRY TO REUSE! The cardboard is not sturdy enough for re-use, no matter how sedate the cats is. If someone was to make something like this in a plastic that can be folded flat for storage, I would buy them in a heartbeat!! If there was also a way to make them more stack-able without compromising the integrity of the closure, I would buy them. Overall, these served the purpose I had for them however. ... show more
