If you are using for auto lights in a safe, make sure to install the sensor outside of line of sight for the sensor. The heating element of the sensor will trigger the light as it is searching for increased thermal in the “infrared”.

The motion sensor is easy to install with 24V LED lights strips I put into my closet. With this sensor, the LED light strips can be ON in the room, and the closet light strip wired in parallel from the same power supply can be turned ON and OFF separately. The motion sensor turns the closet LED lights on when the door is opened. The ON time is perfect for my closet application and did not need any adjustment. The description for this device shows it can support a range of 5V to 24 Volts at 5 Amps though. But I see the detail below the description only shows 12V. With two 24 volt light strips at 48 watts in my closet, I am still under 60 watts for the device it is only 12V. But the specifications should match the description so I can be confident I am using the right part for my lighting setup and avoid any overheating issues. ... show more

Imagine if you bought a car with all kinds of neat features and you went to use this car and you realized that some of the neat features didn’t actually work? How would you feel? Happy? I think not. So this little device is very similar. It does actually turn on and off based on motion **HOWEVER** the little dial to change the length that the light stays on is purely cosmetic (meaning it does nothing). Similar to the crosswalk button it’s uncertain if turning the little dial does anything at all. The outcome is that your lights keep going off and you have to wave your hand a bunch of times to turn them back on. This makes it look like you don’t know how to install lighting properly. Save yourself the pain of going through this and order another brand where reviewers have vouched for the ability of the item to be truly adjustable. ... show more

The motion sensor works well but it doesn't have a light sensor so it will turn on no matter if day or night. You'll have to pry open the back cover to adjust the time on and this thing. The adjustment is super sensitive, the original setting out of the box is like 20s on, but I want it to stay on a little longer and just a quarter turns clockwise and it goes to over 1:20min. ... show more
