    • They Don’t Work on Wet Wood
I bought these to mark raw logs at 18” lengths for fire wood. Unfortunately, they BARELY make any impression on wet wood. Bummer. I’m still looking for a softer, “greasier” timber marker. These didn’t cut it at all for my intended purpose, which is my problem, not Johnson Tool’s fault. Still, Lumber Yards get wet, too, and these are crap for marking wet wood. I am refinishing a hardwood floor and needed to mark certain areas that needed extra attention. My normal black marking pencil did not show up well on the dark hardwood. So, I ordered these white markers and they are way easier to see. They made nice smooth lines and are thick so they leave wide lines which I was looking for.
