I have a 160-170lb 1/2 anatolian shepherd, 1/2 german wirehaired pointer. He favors the behavior of a anatolian shepherd. They are territorial and protective dogs that bark as a warning to potential intruders. I live out in the country so there are many potential intruders. My closest neighbors live relatively close to me and I got compliments from them about him barking at them all day while they were outside working. He was also barking alot at night. Although he finally learned to listen to me this spring when I told him to stop barking, I am not always home. I found this collar and thought I would give it a try especially for the price. I set it to the highest vibration and sound settings leaving the shock off as I wanted to see if he would associate his barking to just the sound and vibration as he already knows from his fence e-collar that when he hears that sound and feels vibration it means he could potentially get zapped if he doesn't stop the behavior that is causing the sound and vibration. After the first bark he instantly stopped and has been wonderful ever since!! Even if your dog isn't familiar with a shock collar yet, I still highly recommend this collar as it is very efficient in all its functions for half the price. Because of my dogs size, coat length and stubbornness I had to have his e-collar shock level all the way up to train him with it properly so that he didn't continue to go past the boundary line like he was on the lower levels. I tested the highest shock level of this collar on myself and it gives just as good of a zap as his e-collar. The sound function goes up pretty loud if needed and the vibration is easily felt. For newbies please start with just the sound or sound and vibration settings and add the shock if that is not enough. When adding the shock, start at a lower level and go up as needed.

I have a mini bernedoodle who has the bark of a full sized one. He’s very protective of the house and once he hears something suspicious, he goes on a tear and just barks for several minutes. I’ve tried EVERYTHING to change the behavior pattern and help calm him down after things like doorbells, or hearing the Neighbors get into or out of their cars, but he’s insanely stubborn. I was hesitant for something like this because I didn’t want to be cruel, especially because he’s just doing his best to protect our home. After reading reviews of his successful it was for other families I decided that it was the next step (and last resort) for us. It was really easy to set up, instructions were mostly clear. Love that it has 1-8 settings to adjust for your dogs size. I put it on our guy and just waited for it to go into action— it went off with his first bark and he was a little surprised, but he immediately stopped barking. Wow. Next time he barked, same thing. I was really glad to see that the device didn’t hurt him, but it’s just unpleasant enough to let him know he should stop barking. The unwanted behavior has improved by 95% in just a few days with the device. He will still bark here or there (his natural reaction), but he will stop after 1 or 2 barks rather than continuing on for several minutes the way he used to. I remove the device at night so he can sleep more comfortably, but I’ve got to say he doesn’t display any signs of discomfort when it’s on during the day. Overall, we’re extremely happy with the device! If you’re having similar issues and thinking about something like this— just do it! You’ll be glad you did.

Bought this for my 4.5 Ilb Pomeranian. She is the yappiest little thing. She would bark at everything on walks, she barks at any visitors non-stop, if people stand up from the couch, she barks, come down the stairs, she barks. Well used this collar with sound and vibrate, it has been 5 days and it works! I had. Company stay with me for 2 days and normally she would bark non-stop. She did still bark but stop at 1 bark. She has now just resorted to a low “rrrr”. I took her on a walk and she was approached by kids and she only barked once. This thing is amazing.

I have 2 small dogs and purchased them each one of the small size. Seems to work for one dog (setting on 4) but not on the other (setting all the way up to 8). This may not be because of the collar, though and may have more to do with my dog being a Chihuahua mix.

This collar has absolutely changed our life & our relationship with our dog! We never used the shock feature, just the beep/vibrate at level 2. Our jack russell stopped shrieking the same day. Within 2 weeks, she barely has to wear it anymore & has figured out that outside is for barking & inside is for quiet time. And the part i like most is that she can still 'talk' to me with out setting off the collar. She kind of grunts & argues & talks back & when you tell her no & it's quite adorable. I'm glad she can still do that & the collar only goes off when she yelps or barks. It's great. Plus, the battery lasts FOREVER. I only needed to charge it once & we used it every day for about 2 weeks. Wish we had gotten it sooner.
