$30 for an 8 ounce bottle is a pretty good value. The one major issue that I had with this product is the lack of a pump to dispense the product. You can end up either pouring out too much or dropping the bottle as your hands become slippery trying to pour the product. I've already notified the manufacturer about this to no avail. The product seems effective enough. I did not purchase a 2nd bottle. I've purchased Olaplex twice and K Eighteen once. Looking for another option...

If you don’t want to read the entire thing. Just know it’s worth the buy and does amazing things to curly/wavy damaged hair. Backstory on my hair: I had a bad bleach job done to my hair about a year ago. It cost me 5.5 inches of my hair. I slowly cut the hair off over the past year. I still have some random spots in the ends that are still damaged but mostly my hairs back to normal from that. BUT those spots that are damaged are noticeable due to my textured hair because they fall flat and straight. I’m a 2c/3a texture type. In the past year I have tried all the leave in conditioners, moisturizing hair masks, olaplex bond repairs, anything you can think of. So in rolls this curlsmith product. I try it with not much hope it’ll mend these few spots in my hair but I’m always down to try something new. First use I put it all over my hair and leave on for 1 hour. (Directions say 15 minutes minimum or up to 1 hour.) wash shampoo/condition/style like normal. I look in the mirror shocked. My curls have come to life. The shine, the definition, the bounce of my curls were unmatched. I couldn’t believe it! The second time trying it I only put it on my ends about 3.5 inches of it and did it for only 15 minutes. Still the same result! My curls came back to life and were extremely moisturized. I would say doing the hour all over my head was amazing but if you are rushing and only have the chance to do 15 minutes it’s still doing the job. It’s NOT a “dupe” of anything. This is the real deal on its own.

When the bottle first arrived, I was not impressed. For the price, I felt like it was a very small amount of product. And there’s no security seal. Twist the lid off and the product is open, no seal at all. I do recommend the manufacturer change that. My hair is fine and I have a lot. As I’ve aged, it’s started thinning and it’s always seems to be frizzy. I’ve never learned about hair porosity, but after reading the directions I found that I have low porosity hair, which means it doesn’t soak up much product. Anyway, that knowledge in itself, I think, was incredibly helpful. This product goes along way. I usually have to use a lot of conditioner, but this just required a quarter size amount to cover all of my hair. Quite surprising! I think it smells wonderful. I really, really like the smell. And it stays in all day. The picture of my hair is after the first use. I’ll try to remember to update after a while of use. But I will continue to buy this product. It makes my hair look and feel better.

I am always skeptical of new hair products and try to manage my expectations regarding how well it will actually work on my hair. My hair is BAD: ultra low density, fine, wavy/curly, with bleach damage and loads of environmental damage (crazy humidity and heat PLUS i work in a factory that welds bits of metal to ther bits of metal lots of heat grit and oil.)... It also HATES protein treatments as a rule. It gets stiff and strawlike and sometimes will just break off in chunks when I try to style it. At the end of the day this is just a suped up protein treatment. Coming from a bad hair place for reals. This jazz... holy smokes. It's not a miracle cure or magic wand to return your hair to virgin perfection but it's dang close. 1 application so far and there is a VAST improvement already. It feels softer, stronger, less tangles, less frizz, it even somehow feels thicker! Wtf?! Is this stuff even real?! By the time the 8oz is done I can only imagine how much better it will be. Absolutely blown away. This treatment has made such a difference in my confidence and happiness with my hair. I am now a curlsmith fan and intend to buy many, MANY more of their products.
