  • Super Impressed With This Meter
Style: FY375
I should have purchased a clamp style meter years ago but am glad to get this now. Everything comes in a nice zippered canvas style carry case, and a good instruction booklet is included. The device is intuitive and simple to use. This is a very versatile device and will do much more than I will ever use it for. My main uses are checking for live wiring/outlets and then checking the voltage on newly installed outlets or outlets with suspected problems. For all of these uses, this device excels. The auto-sensing function is relatively intelligent and makes operation even simpler. The meter uses two included AA batteries, which I prefer to having an internal rechargeable battery. The meter turns itself off if unused, so no issues with battery life. The display is easy to read... the unit is lightweight and comfortable to hold... no complaints. ... show more

  • So far it does the job.
Style: FY375
I bought this specifically to keep in my tool wrap in the truck. I wanted to make sure it had a DC amp capability as well as the everyday meter features. This is a typically generic Chinese meter so I don't have the same expectations that I would have for my Fluke or Fieldpiece meters but for $40 it fits for its intended use. I don't expect any major failures but if so it comes with a 4 year warranty. I will update this review if my long term opinion changes. ... show more

  • Does more than I’ll ever need; good addition to the tool box
Style: FY372B
We’ve gone through a few multimeters over the years, but I’ve never had a digital one before. This one looked like it could handle the variety of uses we need, and it will do that plus more. A lot more, it looks like. I like that it has the no contact voltage detection and the thermometer, which I don’t think I’d ever seen before with a multimeter. I also like the auto recognition, which helped me get going with this one much faster than if I’d had to look up the specifics. The included instructions aren’t terribly helpful if you don’t know what certain functions do, but a quick Google or YouTube search usually fills in those blanks. The carrying case is possibly my favorite part of this one because with my boyfriend, the leads and other small parts have a tendency to disappear if it’s up to him to get everything back together again with no case. And it already came in very handy for me when I was suspicious that a battery was causing some weirdness in a remote. Sure enough, one of the batteries was very low, close to being dead, while the other two were good. Then I checked a plug in the kitchen that I wasn’t sure about, but apparently the problem was in my appliance, because the plug tested out just fine. I’m also looking forward to being able to use in with my aging truck, given that we’re doing more and more DIY auto repair and troubleshooting. This has been such a good addition to my tool box that I’ve found myself looking for reasons to use it. ... show more

  • Voltage tester done well
Style: FY375
This works far better than my older testers. Pretty straight forth in usage. Seems accurate in its measurements. Easy to use. Comes in an all black storage case. Wish it was a different color as I often miss seeing it when I'm looking for it. Not sure how well this will handle drops based on the plastic used. Worth the month. ... show more

  • Nice, easy to use multimeter
Style: FY372B
Having a multimeter around is one of those weird things where you only need it once in a while (if you’re not an electrician or electrical engineer), but when you need one and you actually have one life is so easy. That’s where I was at for so long, occasionally in need of a multimeter but with none around. Well, I’ve fixed that problem, and I’m happy I grabbed this one. So far, it seems pretty good and accurate. I’ve been using it mainly to test batteries, something I find myself needing to do more often than not. Too bad I didn’t have this a few months back when my car battery died. The main body feels nice in the hand without being super heavy, and it’s just as easy to use laying it on counter, which is how I use it for the most part. To be completely fair and honest, I haven’t tried all the functions, but I have some electrical work I need to do around the house, so I’ll be happy to have this with me. Lastly, I really like that it comes with a pouch. I already have so many wires and cables without a home, having a place to put the meter and its cables/leads just makes my life so much easier. I can’t really see how you could go wrong with this multimeter. Even if all you need to do is test your batteries now and then this is worth the investment for peace of mind (how many times have you wondered if your device was dying or was it just the batteries). I’m happy I have it. ... show more

  • Good Meter - But
Style: FY372B
I will start with what I like about this Meter: It is small in size, and I LOVE the Auto recognition, just set it to auto and it knows (most of the time) what you are doing. I find it to be accurate on the voltage and resistance. Nice long cables with long probes, The probes also have covers so if you just want the tip showing for safety you can. It comes with a nice-sized case that can hold everything. It also comes with a thermometer, I have not figured out what I will be using this for, but it is cool. Now for the not-so-good: The Manual is almost worthless, With a little work, you can figure out some things from the stick drawings in it. Like what plug is positive and negative, This is the other thing I did not like about it, NO markings showing what cable goes where. The Non-contact voltage testing, you have to be almost touching the wire for it to let you know the wire has power. If you want to see if a power plug still has power you have to take the cover off, just holding it up to the plug will not work. And I have never gotten the AC Current setting to work at all. ... show more
