This digital caliper requires a USB charger in order to charge, and one is not included. It does include a cable with a USB-A male fitting on one end and a USB-C male fitting on the other end. Any cell phone charging block should work as long as it has a USB-A female port on it. This caliper did not turn on when I received it, so I plugged it into a charger. It charged in about half an hour and the light on the caliper changed from red to green. The head on this caliper is larger and bulkier than on another caliper I have of the same range. It also weighs about an ounce more than my other one. However the display is larger and easier to read than my other one. I measured the same items with both calipers and they agreed, which gives me confidence this caliper is accurate, as I have tested my other caliper using feeler gauges. You can switch between millimeters, inches, and fractional inches with a push of a button. Fractional inches is something I have not seen before but I can see it being very useful, especially for measuring drill bits. I'm not in love with the display showing the first two digits in a larger font and the next two or three digits to the right in a smaller font. I'd rather they all be the same large font. The printed scale on the slide is hard to read because the height of the display creates a shadow on that scale and there is no pointer indicator, instead using the side of the display as an indicator. However this will most likely never be used since it's easier and more precise to just look at the digital display. The caliper adjusts smoothly with the thumb wheel. It has a knurled screw on top to lock the jaws (and the reading) in place. The caliper turns on automatically when you thumb the wheel, so no need to press the on/off button to turn it on. It automatically turns itself off after about 5 minutes of non-use. The included case is sturdy plastic and has two latches. I wish it only had one latch as the two latches makes it twice as hard to unlatch to open, since you need to pry up both latches, while one would be totally sufficient. A minor annoyance compared to the case on my other one. All in all this is a solid and accurate caliper that works well and is thoughtfully designed.
