I wasn’t sure what other reviewers meant by the light being good quality, but I get it now. These do give off a pleasant light, and the color temperature does get more amber/cozy at dimmer levels. They have a great range of dimming, too. But I did not expect them to have a delay when turning on. At low light, they actually fade on which is kind of nice.     • Perfect warm dimming LED

These are the ones to buy if you need a quality dimming LED bulb that throw off light in all directions identically to an incandescent bulb. I had a specific need for a light and these Philips lights were the only ones that do the job correctly. I tried Walmart brand, Feit, Utilitech, Ecosmart, old school Crees (that weight a ton and are normally bullet-proof - I probable paid $20 each 15 years ago). My problem is I needed 4 warm 2700k dimmable bulbs over a pool table. Dimmers and LEDs have always been finicky. I even tried 40 watt incandescent appliance bulbs- which still for sale and perfect except for the heat and the COST ($20/year for 4 vs $4/year for LEDs.....). The issue with other LEDs? - noise and flicker when not at 100% on level. When you are leaning over to take a pool shot the last thing you want is to hear buzzing and see flickering when you have your lights set to a pleasant 60% level in the evening as the sun goes down. My wife thinks I'm crazy! I normally don't care for branding but I figured I had nothing to loose with these Philips and they are not available locally. I was hoping to try them and return them if they didn't work. 1. They fade very smoothly 2. They are the correct warmth 3. The are SILENT (box says you can't hear them from 12 inches away, I can't hear them at all) 4. Most important FLICKER FREE as advertised (box says down to 10% dim level). 100% satisfied. None of the other 5-6 brands I tried could do this. For science- I am dimming them with an Insteon 2477D LED compatible dimmer. This is a case where you do get more for your money. There are a bit dimmer than my other bulbs that I have, but not by that much. I use these in my bedroom and bathroom so the blue light doesn't stimulate me and wake me up more at night. In other areas like my kitchen and other lamps I use other full spectrum LED lights that are also significantly cheaper. I have insomnia and several causes for it, so these bulbs along with black out curtains, good ear plugs and other adjustments help to make sure I set my environment up to make it as conducive to sleep as possible. I can't speak to longevity of the bulbs as I have only had them about a month. ... show more

If you didn't know it was an LED bulb, without inspecting the light distribution at the ends, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between this and an old incandescent, beyond the heat output. No flicker under camera. Can't speak to longevity, yet, but so far so good. If you have a desk lamp with a poorly designed reflector, this bulb may not be for you as the "tip" end does not cast as much light as the sides. ... show more

    • All of the bulbs may not work for long

Update: Phillips doesn't have these bulb to send a replacement bulb for a warranty claim. Their option is to refund one bulb as 1/4 of the price you paid for this 4 pack. You can't buy a replacement bulb for this refund amount. These are supposed to have a 3 year warranty that you can't get a replacement for and it appears these bulbs won't last through the warranty period. At this point I'm not happy with the quality of the product and the manufacturer's response to resolve a defective product. I ordered this 4 pack in the beginning of June 2023. Now at the beginning of Aug 2023, one of the bulbs isn't working. I'm working with Phillips for a replacement. I don't think these bulbs will last 3 to 5 years as the warranty states on the box based on my initial experience. I bought these more expensive bulbs expecting that they would work better and last longer. For the price that I paid, I expected the bulb to last longer than 2 months. Overall before the bulb burned out, the lights provided the brightness that I expected and did not flicker when using the dimmer on a ceiling fan. ... show more

Great dimming capability and excellent brightness with warm quality light. Fair warning: These are GLASS bulbs, not plastic. The first set arrived in pieces, so I requested a replacement which arrived undamaged. I wouldn't bother purchasing light bulbs online but our big box home improvement only carries sub-par bulbs which are terrible. Very little selection. Nice bulbs. Probably the best out there. They surprisingly look exactly like the good old style bulbs. Let's see how long they last: LED bulbs tend to overheat and die due to that.
